2 trade ideas (kobe not involved) = championship??
Do you think we can pull these off? I believe they both work salaries wise:
Lakers trade: Odom, Bynum, #19 pick + Future first round pick
Grizzlies trade: Gasol, #4 pick
Lakers beef up their frontcourt by having Gasol and then drafting Horford (assuming Hawks finally take their point guard in Conley). Grizzlies may lose Gasol in the future, he seems unhappy there. Their new team looks pretty good with Bynum, Odom, Gay, Miller, etc.
Lakers trade: Kwame, Walton (sign and trade)
Kings trade: Artest
Kings want/need to get rid of artest. In return they get a pretty good SF who is also a great passer which fits nicely in their system, and an inconsistently decent big man to bring off the bench.
Starting lineup: Gasol, Horford, Artest, Kobe, Farmar
Bench: Turiaf, Mihm (maybe?), Radmanovic, Evans, Sasha, MLE, more?

hm, it sounds good. but more for the lakers than anyone else.
the first proposal sounds good to me. i don't think luke will want to sign and trade. i don't think he wants to be in sacramento.

If the Lakers can pull off this, it would be already tremendous! With the fourth pick they could get to choose a good player, who would be a good addition from day one. There is possibility to draft Conley, Horford, Wright, Brewer one of those guys. I would propably take Brewer or Horford. With Brewer, we could put Luke to come off the bench, because Brewer is (what) 6'8"-6'9" he could easily play SF. Horford would strenghten the front-court big time, wich is never a bad thing...
What do you think will happen, Kobe gets traded, someone else get traded to aquire an all-star caliber player or nothing at all will happen???

Re: 2 trade ideas (kobe not involved) = championship??
Memphis would never trade their pick, especially not with Gasol, which would mean they're rebuilding.
While Gasol wanting out and the ownership issues put pressure on the Grizzlies, it's not like the Lakers aren't in a similiar position.
The Artest trade or a comparable proposal I can see happening. It's a huge gamble, but the Lakers can't be picky and have to bring in as much talent as possible disregarding character issues.
Zach Randolph is available, too. A deal including Odom (the sf Portland might want) would probably get it done.
A core of Kobe, Artest and Randolph could spell disaster, but talentwise that's lightyears ahead of what you have right now.
