No, you can change if you go to another team I think.

Re: Kobe 23
The number 23 sould be a league wide retired number. I'm tired of bum players or players that don't remind me of jordan( like Lebron) wearing this number.
When the League retires this number then they could finaly end the Jordan hang over.
#23 should only belong to Jordan

So funny. So by that logic nobody should be able to wear 32 or 33 either, because there certainly aren't any Magic Johnsons Larry Birds or Kareem Abdul-Jabbars out there these days.

I should have explained myself thoroughly:
Jordan was by far the greatest all-round figure of the NBA of All-time. that discription is almost unanimous to everybody who have watched him and/or read about him. I just think that his impact should be rewarded by The NBA retiring his number league wide. Magic and Kareem were great but Jordan's impact in all facets of Life and Thought were far greater. (IMO)

You call yourself a Lakers fan?
Jordan doesn't deserve to have his number retired more than Magic, who saved the NBA along with Bird from the drug infested 70s.

Are you serious?
There's only 2 ways i can take what you wrote seriously:
1- You are under 15 years old;
2- YOu are over 75 years old.
So, what is it? Infantility or senility?

Re: Kobe 23
I'm one of the few who believes that Magic is the greatest player to ever walk the Earth. But let's not turn this into a ***** fest with those who feel like Jordan is transcendant above all.

personaly, I believe that Magic is the best nba player of all-time, but the reason why I chose michael was his cultural and economic* impact he had during his career.
*e.g there are more people in the world right now that know Michael Jordan then Magic and Bird.

You support the league retiring #23 because of Jordan. That's comic enough for me. Maybe you don't know about the NBA before Jordan. Maybe you think guys like Eilt, Russell, Dr. J., KAJ, Magic, Bird are just some phantoms everyone talks about but you. So you don't recognize them.
Maybe you have grown in the Jordan Histeria of the 90's and didn't know better. But you must have grown up. If you are a bball fan, you must have studied some about the great players before Jordan. Yet again, maybe you didn't. That would explain something.
You talk about "cultural and economic" impact? well, guess what, even Jordan's teammates (at least one) were calling him a sell-out because he refused to give back to the black community and because he never said anything about Nike using Asian sweatshops to manufacture Air Jordans. Economic impact? Sure, Jordan was a marketing beatch, selling everything from sneaker to underwear and cologne.
And you want the number 23 retired for THAT?
I bet you think David Beckham is the best soccer player in history, don't you?
