I miss Chick's blunt honesty. When a player was being selfish or Stupid, Chick was the first to call him out. I miss that kind of honesty.

So do I. Chick was never afraid to tell it like it was. And it was never out of spite or personal animus; he didn't carry grudges or agendas like so many broadcasters seem to do now.

It baffles me why other broadcasters don't adopt his style of describing a game. With Chick you could be away from the screen, in the middle of doing something, yet see the game's flow in your mind.

Never be the same without him. Chick Hearn Forever.
