Lakers Notebook: Bynum signs with new Agency, Odom's Changing His Game Plan
Lakers Notebook: Odom's Changing His Game Plan
Quote:
PE.com: With the addition of Pau Gasol, who has shown to be a terrific passer, and with the way Kobe Bryant has been dishing the basketball, Lamar Odom knew it was time to change some things in his game.
Precisely, cutting without the basketball, something Odom admitted that it was a "weakness in my game."
It's obvious Odom has been making an effort to move his body and cut without the ball.
Odom finished with just eight points on 4-for-6 shooting, but he showed how willing he is to improve his game.
"Me and the coaching staff, we talked about it," Odom said. "I've always played on teams where I got the ball and made my moves. If I look at this team, I'm like the third option, the fourth option. You have to find a way to score."
Early in the first quarter, Odom did just that, cutting down the lane, accepting a pass from Bryant and laying the ball up with his right hand. Later in the first, Odom cut down the lane and got a pass from Gasol and finished with a left-handed dunk.
"Gotta finish," Odom said. "That's not that hard. It shouldn't be."
"He just has to see the gaps in the defense and see where his man is," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "We preach direct-line principles."
Jackson smiled.
"It's not a DSL service, obviously," Jackson joked. "But the truth of the matter is, if you have a straight line to the basket, you take it."

New Deal for Bynum
Quote:
Bynum, while rehabilitating his injured left kneecap, has been busy with off-the-court matters back home in Los Angeles.
Bynum has signed on with William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills to represent him in off-court marketing and endorsement opportunities.
The group will work in conjunction with Bynum's agent, David Lee, who will continue to work on his client's on-court deals.
Bynum can sign a maximum deal of five years, $75 million this summer with the Lakers.
