Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
it looks like odom is really using his length to become a very good shot blocker. It must be the ronny effect, as odom constantly challenges shots in the paint never gives up on a play.
it's going to really scary once we get bynum and pau back as we'll have three guys out there on the same court altering and challenging shots in the paint. no easy buckets whatsoever and our opponents will be forced to take jumpshots all day everyday. another great thing is that these three guys wont have to worry about being in foul trouble as we'll have ronny to come in and fill the void nicely
man i'm so excited hahahahahahah

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
yeah i noticed lately he's been going for blocks more often.. but why now all of a sudden? he's playing better defense.. much less standing still with his hands up in air.
with lamar's length and athletic ability, he should always be a good shotblocker like this.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
Yeah, he's definitely stepping it up defensively. Considering his length and the fact that he's pretty damn athletic, he should have been a good shot blocker his entire career. But I'm just glad that he's finally taking it upon himself to improve in that area because it has helped the team out tremendously.

Defense wins Championships, I think he is starting to finally get it.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
Odom is beginning to believe that he could be the best player on the court night in, night out.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
We did not get a shot blocker...We played GS twice
Do you know how many he had in the three games before the GS series? 1
He is playing great the past few weeks but Im willing to bet GS's size had a lot to do with the amazing stats the last two games.
Get a hold of yourselves guys..

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
it's more than the past few weeks, it's more like the past 2 months (since we've gotten gasol).
it wasn't just the GS games, i remember him getting a few sweet blocks a few games ago... not odom-like.
for the month of march, he's averaged 1.75 blocks per game.. which is almost double his season average.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
just look at his game log, then look at his size, and you will see he is decent but nothing to brag about in that department. No Bynum and Pau equals Odom has to play like a big (staying around rim on D) equals inflated blocked shots.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
can you tell me why, during the time bynum was out and gasol wasn't there, LO averaged about .9 blocks per game then? and in february he averaged .8 blocks?
LO is naturally a small forward too. and 1.75 blocks per game for someone like LO is not bad at all.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
even if it's golden state.. what LO has done in the past 2 games has been AMAZING. almost two 20/20 games with 4.5 blocks per game.. only what, 3 turnovers per game? that's amazing really.

Re: Did we just acquire a new shot blocker?
I saw him dunk last week too, maybe he'll start dunking instead of bricking layups from now
