they needed an expiring, and glen was one. EJ and elden campbell still had a few years left on their contracts. i think the trade was done for a little bit of both reasons.

Maybe, I was really too young to remember that. All I know back then is Eddie Jones was going to become a superstar and I hated it when he was let go for a boring player like Rice. I didnt care for contracts etc...I was 13 lol.
