Its obvious he laughs in his mind at the "Kobe became a better teammate" theory. If you read between the lines he is saying" Hello!?!? He had Kwame Brown and Smush Parker as freaking teammates last year! Now he has Pau Gasol and Fish!! He is not an idiot! He obviously realizes he has people who wont be having constant brain farts!"
...at least thats how I read his response

well the media wants to make it a feel good story.
the selfish kobe bryant came to a realization that he cant win a game by himself therefore he started passing the ball more to his teammates thus gaining success
media sucks they cant handle the truth
