The Official Los Angeles Lakers NBA Draft Lottery Thread
The draft is only a couple of weeks away, so here's the discussion thread for it. It's usually a pretty big day here on the boards, so make your predictions, etc.

Re: The Official Los Angeles Lakers NBA Draft Lottery Thread
^I hope you are kidding. I would take Mbenga over Kwame as our backup C any day. Not only does it look like Mbenga tries to get better, he can do anything Kwame could ever do. Plus Kwame represents a negative past, you can hear how relieved PJ and Kobe are in interviews about not having to deal with Kwame's stupidity.
Cuban, I think a more reasonable offer would be Luke & 2nd rounder for lower 2nd round pick..(is that even allowed?)

Re: The Official Los Angeles Lakers NBA Draft Lottery Thread
either way doesn't work, the salaries won't match up. you could do luke and 2nd rounder for an expiring 5 million and a 1st rounder though. but no one is stupid enough to do that.
well, maybe rick carlisle. he says luke is one of his favorite players. and dallas might hire him, so who knows. actually, dallas doesn't have any expirings... so i guess that's a no go.

Re: The Official Los Angeles Lakers NBA Draft Lottery Thread
This is probably a pipedream but even if the Lakers win it all I would trade Odom for this player in a heartbeat. I mention this here since maybe in my dreams it could be a draft day trade. One big problem is Odom is paid considerably more then the player I speak of. Maybe this team would want Odom's expiring contract???This player is.. Tayshaun Prince
Could you imagine him as our SF?!?!....oh man, I need to some new underwear now

Re: The Official Los Angeles Lakers NBA Draft Lottery Thread
if im detroit, i would NEVER do that. but it would be really nice to have him.
i guess they could throw tay in the deal along with amir johnson, but i really doubt that would ever happen.

Re: The Official Los Angeles Lakers NBA Draft Lottery Thread
I'm still hoping for a Odom for Gerald Wallace trade, but I don't mind keeping Odom now that we don't have to rely on him to score.
This is one ****ty draft. After Rose, Beasley and Mayo... there is no one I like. Lopez is going to be a huge bust for someone I think.
I would spend our last draft pick on a promising Euro player and get the rights to him. Someone who probably won't come over for a year or two or three because of either contract or experience issues. Then store him up.

If there is one thing we know, its that there are always hidden gems in the 2nd round.
