Who is really running this team?
On PTI they are referencing Jimmy as the guy who made the moves for Nash and Dwight rather than Mitch. Sure I can see him having to sign off on trades but it sure seems like Mitch is starting to just become a GM in name only. I sure hope not. Now rumors Dr. Buss came down and made sure D'Antoni got the job. I think Jimmy's opinion carries more (if not all and Mitch is just an advisor) weight than Mitch's and that sucks.
End Rant

Re: Who is really running this team?
So if he was the one responsible for Dwight and Nash... and he's getting more power... why does it suck?

Re: Who is really running this team?
But was he??????
Also THEY said if he had wanted to he could have traded for Dwight 2 years earlier. It sucks cause Mitch has proven himself while Jimmy has been less than desirable so far

Um? you said he was in the first post of the thread?

Re: Who is really running this team?
All indications appear that Jerry Buss is the one who pulled the rug from under Phil, not Jimmy.
Not that I am a "Jimmy" defender, but we need to be accurate. This sounds like a Jerry move. Whether its the right one or not, we will have to wait and see. As far as the Nash and Howard trades go (and even the Phil negotiations), it appears that both Jimmy and Mitch are working in tandem. So I am not sure if either one solely deserves the credit, they probably deserve the credit together.

Re: Who is really running this team?
who cares who is running this team. who ever is running the team is doing something right to be able to sign DH and nash. i think toooo may ppl listen too closely to media and get easily manipulated their idiotic ideas. i am going to add one more wrinkle to this quote "Those Who Can, Do, and Those Who Can't, Teach" the rest just become critics. I wanted PJ as much as Ron (
), no i really wanted PJ with just the fact that he gives me the confidence that we can win, and he is funny as fack. anyways, bottom line is we need to sit back and enjoy this season because it will be something special, i am sure everyone except DISH has the channel right now, so relax ppl, we are fans but the owners are in business to make and save money

Re: Who is really running this team?
someone posted an article in these forums last spring that went into pretty good detail about how they - work, it's all 3 of them meeting regularly over some kind of a meal and brainstorming shit

Re: Who is really running this team?
whomever hired Mike brown is a ****ing idiot. and all signs point to Jim Buss. Mitch's bonifides are legit. Not gonna get too carried away with Howard or Nash trades till I see the results they are no brainers to say the least if you can get those guys.

Re: Who is really running this team?
The trades for Nash and Howard are no brainers, but it took some savvy to stick to the plan and not include Pau or other pieces. A lot of other GM's in the league would have jumped at the chance to add Howard and given up more than we ended up doing. There should be credit given for not only making the trades happen, but making them more one sided.

Re: Who is really running this team?
Mitch is awesome.
And really, the worst part about the Mike Brown thing was that we missed out on Adelman. Having Brown be our coach for less than 100 games isn't really a big deal because it's not like we were going to do anything last year anyways.

Quote:
If they were going to just get by until they could get a better roster/coach they would of been better off promoting Shaw on a 2 year contract or something. Or just getting a random throw away coach on a two year deal.
