We already have a stretch 4

His name is Metta

If Pau must go (as so many claim) and with December 15th since past (and ergo teams being available to move summer FAs) instead of swapping dimes on the dollar for a stretch 4 like Ryan Anderson just to get better fit maybe some other deal involving youth and depth can be made

with D'Antoni talking about pushing Kobe to the 3 maybe the centerpiece of a Pau deal could be a 2 or 3?

any ideas? thoughts?

Re: We already have a stretch 4

Yeah, Pau for Brandon Jennings. But I don't think they would accept that. I'd prefer they just make adjustments to let Pau be Pau, personally.

A couple bench guys may as well be packaged because Antoni won't give them minutes. I think Hill certainly has value. There is also a logjam at PG so it would be great if one of them could be moved. Hill for Ariza.

Re: We already have a stretch 4

I said this last time it was rumored. If they dealt Pau (hopefully they don't) get something nice and start Jamison. Metta works too, but the Lakers depth is at the 4 and 5, not 1-3.

Re: We already have a stretch 4

Hm. I definitely don't want to trade Pau, especially before our team even gets to play together, but this is interesting just to speculate about. And since the powerhouse teams in the league (OKC, Miami, New York etc.) play small anyways we really wouldn't even be losing a size advantage.

OKC, Miami and now the Knicks will all basically force us to play Metta at the 4 anyway since that's where they put Durant, Lebron, Melo a lot of the time

My main concern with this is burning out both MWP and Kobe by February with the former backing up both PF and SF and the latter playing SF and backing up SG.

Re: We already have a stretch 4

If we played Miami I would want Pau on Battier with Metta on LeBron. Force them to match up with us.

But since Pau doesn't get many post touches when he is in with Dwight it might not matter.

And against OKC you put Pau on Thabo. NYC you put him on Brewer.

Fight fire with fire, mismatches go both ways.

Yeah, Milwaukee won't accept that.

We already have a chucker (although he's having an efficient season so far), we don't need another one. llullz

I wouldn't be surprised if Pau gets benched against the Heat just so we could match up better with them. llullz
