Predict the Lakers Starting Lineup and Rotation

What a hell is Mr Pringles doin. i hate watching this team because it feels like we have no direction no plan we have nothing but 3 point shooting. we are playing so fast that we are turning over the ball 10 mil times, getting tired, not being able to set our defense in place.

he is not the right coach for us and i don't think he is the right coach for any team. he left NY and look at that team

As for the thread title. Metta is a back up 4. Pau is the starting 4 and backup 5. It's Bynum-Pau-odom all over.

Meeks start with Nash in the backcourt. Kobe is the backup 3. I think ebanks is the backup 2 and 3. Duhon beats out Morris to back up Nash.

8 men rotation. Weird that hill and Tawn are out. Both have been top 3 players in different games.

L.A.'s New Rotation

Quote:
When Steve Nash returns to L.A.'s starting line up in the next few games, here's what Mike D'Antoni's primary rotation could look like:

Starters: Nash, Jodie Meeks, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard
Subs: Chris Duhon, Darius Morris, Metta World Peace

That leaves Jordan Hill, Antawn Jamison and Devin Ebanks among those on the outside looking in, which D'Antoni said he regrets particularly in Hill's case, as he was pleased with Hill's effort in previous games.

With that said, he wants to open up the floor.

"We have to be able to change our team," said D'Antoni. "For us to have a different team, a different look, Metta has to play the four. If he starts at the three, then once I get him to the four, it's too many minutes for him. I think Metta will be very productive as a four, and our team will be very productive.

"You have Dwight, you have a 7-footer in there, so we can go small. I think it puts Jodie Meeks out there, it (gives) Kobe more area to operate. Once we get Nash back, we'll have pick and rolls... there's a lot of area (there)."

Typically, World Peace will check in around the six-minute mark of the first quarter for Gasol, likely to return two or three minutes later to replace Howard. That allows MWP to play power forward, which D'Antoni says is necessary "for us to have a different team, a different look," and Gasol to play center, which is certainly his best position.

D'Antoni started Devin Ebanks - who could still be in line for a few minutes at backup small forward - on Tuesday against Charlotte, but replaced him with Meeks to start the second half. Meeks has scored in double figures in 5 of 6 games, and has not only been spreading the floor with his three-point shooting (39.3 percent) but competing with intensity on defense.

"(Meeks) has a little pop to his game, both offensively and defensively," said D'Antoni. "He spreads the floor, always a 3-point shot waiting to happen. I think he's playing extremely well; he's a good player."

In addition to Meeks, Morris sparked the Lakers defensively against Charlotte, helping erase an 18-point deficit in the third quarter. D'Antoni said if he continues to play defense like that, he'll force his coach to put him on the floor, even if it's at backup shooting guard with Bryant playing more small forward and Meeks starting at the two.

Gasol and Howard will essentially occupy all 48 minutes at the center position, which in D'Antoni's system best suits Hill, so he may not play much unless one of the two in front of him get into foul trouble. Jamison had a run of five games in double figures in six contests from Nov. 23 to Dec. 5, but was a DNP-CD with Gasol's return, having failed to score in limited minutes in the previous two contests.

Re: Predict the Lakers Starting Lineup and Rotation

Personally, give and take a few mins here and there, I'd like to see this:

Nash 32mins/Duhon or Blake 16mins
Kobe 36mins/Morris 12mins
Metta 12mins/Meeks 36mins
Pau 24mins/Metta 24mins
Dwight 36mins/Pau 12mins

Good to see you back cajon. Ron said if I start one more game thread I'm banned.

Looks like Pringles read my post. Only difference is he has ebanks out and Morris in. I would rather have ebanks length than Morris ball handling.

Coaches make no impact. They are above criticism.

Ron inadvertently banned my IP. llullz We're on a three game winning streak with your GTs. You might want to continue as you seem to be our lucky charm.

Ebanks just isn't getting done. I'd rather give Clark the chance, Ebanks had his numerous times but just isn't delivering.

Jamel knows he can start game threads, just as long as he respects the opposing team's name.

Assuming, of course, he doesn't start calling OUR team Fakers, Lazyers, etc.

Re: Predict the Lakers Starting Lineup and Rotation

Im worried Pringles is going to run Kobe 43 minutes a game and burn him out. Same for Nash. I dont see MDA playing Nash less than 35 a game. Maybe they can take it, but Id rather not see it happen.

Hopefully, when Nash comes back, and Pringles can establish his rotations with more consistency, he wont have to rely on the starters as much.

Since the game against the Thunder, Kobe's been averaging 42.6 MPG. He's also 2nd in the league in total minutes played this season.

Re: Predict the Lakers Starting Lineup and Rotation

Mike D is terrible with minutes. He doesn't pay attention to that kind of stuff. And he is super serious about keeping it to an 8 man rotation, which will leave Hill and Atawn in a lot of frustration.

This team with

Nash,
Meeks,
Kobe,
Metta,
Howard

on the floor reminds me of a much improved version of the '07 Suns.

Re: Predict the Lakers Starting Lineup and Rotation

Jordan Hill brings tremendous energy to the team on the floor, not on the bench.

D'Antoni is looking more and more like a fool.
