Heat fans ripping Shaq
First off, this is not a bait thread. If it turns into a pissing contest, it will be closed. I just thought some of these posts from a Heat blog were interesting. We took a lot of crap for the Shaq trade, and a handful of their fans seem to be acknowledging that Buss was not crazy. Regardless, we have Odom, Kwame, and an injured Profit to show for the trade, so I can't say that we got the best of it yet. I also know that we have beat this to death, so if you're tired of it, don't post here.

This game was terrible. Shaq is the epitome of what this team is: mediocre and lazy. They think they're the best team in the league, but they have a long way to go. Not showing up every night is bush.

I think i'd go with lazy. Please, how long are we going to continue this charade that he's still playing hurt? Or that he is just getting into the mix of things? If he were on another team everyone here would be ripping him. Lets not forget, part of his fued with Kobe stemmed from him continously being out of shape and his inability to show constant "ZO" like determination. We cant ignore what everyone in LA was screaming when he left. Sure, a lazy Shaq is still the best Center in the NBA, but is that really saying much? He's still lazy, why does everyone deny that? I mean just look at him, he's an athlete, and he's overweight! Do you know how hard it is to play that game and be overweight?

Shaq needs to dominate. He is playing like Olowokandi out there. His defense and rebounding is terrible. What the hell is wrong with him? Lazy, hurt, unmotivated during the regular season? I don't know but what he's doing out there is not enough for this team and definitely not enough to bring us a championship.

Shaq is just a shadow of his former self, and unless he is spoon fed right at the rim, he cant even back down the like's of the Hornet's Chris Anderson..
He looks like his feet are concrete blocks, he cant even get off the ground, he watches rebounds go right by him, and totally ineffective any more than 3 feet from the rim.
For the team Shaq isnt getting it done, but for the organization he is still filling seats and selling jerseys, so im sure they arent that upset, but for how much longer?
The lakers dont look that crazy anymore do they?

You see all of you guys ignored me when I said we should trade Shaq, Toine and Haslem for KG ....now my proposition is looking good. The HEAT have to move this over size horse manuer, he is a big Mojon at 7-1 330 pounds trades his fat @ss...heck I would trade him for Alan Ogg if I could. At least we could have fun with Ogg's name and one thing Ogg would do is play with heart if he was in the L.

what pisses me off more about Shaq is that everytime the HEAT have a huge game he comes out with one of hs stupid quotes such as "Flash and Hulk had to carry SUperman today" ohh please you Big Fake, stop making excuses and play hard, MAN UP (Bleep)!!!!! He always mumbles like a big dummy and now plays like one. Too...you can see D Wade wants to win, the kid had nearly a 3 double by half time and ZO playing with one kidney (the other is not his) are giving it their all and this @sshole is playing half way.

2. The big guy...I don't even like thinking this but is it fair to say maybe Jerry Buss was on to something when he traded the big guy. Buss has always stuck to his guns and said the reason he traded Shaq instead of Kobe was the conditioning issue for Shaq and his age. I think we are seeing a very slow out of shape Shaq at the moment. He has been back long enough to get into a good rhythm but he looked very old and slow last night. I'm going to keep my eye on the big fellow.

Doesn't this look a lot like our forum a few years ago?

Re: Heat fans ripping Shaq
Yeah, pretty interesting stuff there. These are things most Laker fans knew about Shaq 3 years ago. Jerry Buss said he traded Shaq because of his conditioning, work ethic, etc. Many Heat fans agree and many say he's lazy. Go figure.
Maybe Kobe didn't trade Shaq after all? Not that Laker fans didn't already know that.

Interesting to say the least, considering how Kobe has been portrayed as a villain wanting to get Shaq out so he could be the man.
If Shaq worked half as hard as Kobe they'd probably still be playing together.
It's ridiculous the amount of excuses that are made for Shaq by fans and analysts.

Re: Heat fans ripping Shaq
It's still early in the season and Heat fans are already talking garbage...lol @ that...like EHL said, Laker fans knew about this 3 years ago...just imagine how pissed off Heat fans will be when they don't win a championship this season. I think Shaq is gonna be traded, but then again, what team can afford is "fat" contract...no pun intended
btw...Lynx, I think i'm in lust with your avatar

Re: Heat fans ripping Shaq
This is really nothing more than some Heat fans blowing off steam after a loss (for reference, Shaq put up 19 and 9). Shaq is putting up 20/9 in just 28mpg, his per 36 are a shade under 25/12, which are as good as any of the per 36 he put up his last 4 years in LA. Wade and Shaq rank 1 and 2 in +/- for the Heat, Shaq being +13, which is fantastic. Considering he's nearly 34 and in the twilight of his career, and still recently coming off an injury, this really isn't significant at all. I'm sure you can find a messageboard/blog/whatever for any team where they have fans bashing any particular player after a loss. I find it a bit funny that several posts were talking about the heart and determination Mourning has been playing with, and the lack Shaq has shown, when Shaq is leading Mourning in nearly every major statistical category, not just with totals (Mourning is putting up 9/7 in 24mpg), but in per minute stats as well, outside of blocks. Not to mention, Mourning's +/- is just +1.9, compared to +13.4 for Shaq. Wake me when Shaq isn't the best center in the league, and maybe then I'll care.

Re: Heat fans ripping Shaq
RunTMC, I think the main point here is that Shaq is being paid more money than anyone in the league to be, at best, a top 10 player so far this season. That's not worth it. And won't be worth it in the future when he's still being paid $20M per (until 2010 in fact).

Re: Heat fans ripping Shaq
I feel bad for Wade. That guy has the Heat on his shoulders right now, and has had them there since the playoffs of his rookie year. The kid is dynamic. I hope he signs somewhere else when he is a free agent, because he doesn't deserve the treatment he gets. He carries the team, then Shaq talks about him like the ultimate sidekick, as if Shaq hasn't been Wade's sidekick the whole time he has been in Miami. As hard as Wade works, he can't be happy with Shaq's work ethic, especially with the position they're in to win a title, but the likelyhood of them falling short because Shaq refuses to work as hard as Wade or Mourning.

I use to call him (and still do) the big lazy, even before the last championship.
