Re: Billy Bean "aka the genius" deals Nick Swisher
Hmm...
Eric Chavez out for the year and career might be over. Ryan Sweeney hitting .265 with 3 homers and 4 steals. I guess when someone mentioned him hitting 34 homers they meant over the span of his entire career. A's 5th lowest in runs scored in the league. 2nd to last in batting average. The lowest team? The other moneyball organization, the san diego padres run by Beane's old pals Alderson and Depodesto. A's in last place, just had a cg shutout thrown at them by one of Tampa's worst pitchers. Ron Washington, who I mentioned repeatedly in this thread, guiding the Rangers to their best season in years. Nick Swisher's biggest impact on the Yankees? Probably his personality, as Joe Girardi has repeatedly said. Beane signed Giambi, who's hitting .193, Nomar, who's hitting .267 with 11 rbi, and Orlando cabrera who's hitting .255. Must be that famous Billy Beane talent recognition coming into play. Always nice to take a look back.
