Well, when Giambi plays a whole season, he is much better than Jeter, so I don't see the problem with him making more. As for A-Rod, the Marlins just don't care.

Much better than Jeter? Put down the peace pipe he is a power hitter thats about it. Jeter is a very good all-around player. I'm sure most every GM in baseball would take Jeter over Giambi right now.

In a full, healthy season, yes. Neither player is a good fielder, and Giambi will give you a significantly higher OBP and more HRs. Seriously, Giambi has an OPS of almost .100 higher than Jeter. Jeter can steal bases, but Giambi will still earn you more total bases in a season than Jeter.

Did you know that Giambi has a career OPS+ of 147 to Jeter's 122? Did you know that Giambi has a career EQA of .314 to Jeter's .291? It's ridiculous how much better Giambi is at hitting.

Jeter and Giambi are both very good MLB players, we aren't comparing a great player and an average player. Sorry i'm just not as enamored with mr. arm and hammer as you are.

But you are using the same stupid argument that would decalre Brosius better than A-Rod. If you want to say Jeter is better than Giambi, you would have to a lot better than bringing up WS titles, especially when Jeter has been on the same team as Giambi for the past 7 years. Jeter simply isn't as good as everyone makes him out to be. He's a poor fielder, and he can't hit nearly as well as Giambi. It's not some sort of outrage that Giambi makes more than him.
