Honestly this draft sucks donkey balls.

Yea I can't speak to the high school talent, but the college talent is pretty weak compared to previous years. I like Zunino and Appel and a couple other guys (Daniel Bard's brother could be really good IMO), but all in all not a lot of supreme talent.

Jarrod Parker has a 1-hitter through 8. Pitch count at 107.

When I saw that Boston was using a first rounder on Deven Marrero I figured that they must have their eyes on some Latin American players and were attempting to go cheap in the draft so that they could roll their excess money over into international signings. When I saw them tab Florida's Brian Johnson with their second pick I was convinced of it.

Your statement defines and proves my point. You would rather lose with an individual stat pitcher than win with a pitcher who wins. I go to the playoffs, you don't. It is that simple.

Simpleton questions that every WIN METHOD fans inside and out. 1.Yes 2.Yes 3.No, an event is what it is when it is.

Answer the following question, do not avoid it or talk around it.

Would you rather win with a pitcher who wins or lose with a pitcher with great individual stats?

No, it's actually as simple as this. We'd rather have the pitcher that puts our teams in the bet positions to win by allowing the fewest runs and fewest base runners over the longest stretch of innings. Good fortune is not a skill and can't be replicated.

Okay, so you'd take Ivan Nova over Felix Hernandez. Gotcha.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread

The real beauty of baseball is that it is too complex and nuanced for dogmatic dog shit like this Win Method crap. Lefty Carlton had one of the greatest seasons in the history of the game, while playing on one of the worst teams ever. He wouldn't have spoken to any of us either, much less one of us.

Tommy Lasorda Suffers Heart Attack

TMZ: Baseball legend Tommy Lasorda is currently in a New York hospital after suffering a heart attack Monday, TMZ has learned.

84-year-old Lasorda -- who ended his illustrious coaching career after a prior heart attack in 1996 -- was in NY representing the L.A. Dodgers at the MLB draft, which started yesterday.

Sources tell us ... the heart attack was "mild" and Tommy is expected to be ok -- and the plan is for him to be released tomorrow.

The YANKEES and Andy Pettitte best James Shields and the Rays 7-0 in the first game of a three game series. Russell Martin with the game breaking grand slam home run.

Answer the following question, do not avoid it or talk around it.

Would you rather win with a pitcher who wins or lose with a pitcher with great individual stats?
So a Jeter home run in a 9-1 loss is meaningful according to you? Interesting. Maybe I should've substituted "A-Fraud" in for Jeter in that question...

To answer your question as you asked it, I'd rather win. To answer the more meaningful question, I'd rather have a pitcher who puts my team in the best position to win rather than one who has benefited from good fortune and run support in the past. Lucky for me, there are a lot of useful statistics out there that are useful to predict future performance.
