Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
I saw Ben Sheets strike out 18 guys once, filthiest pitching performance I've seen in person... incredible curveball. Never could stay healthy, but he had some great stuff.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
YANKEES open second half of the season with three wins in four games and are making it near impossible for any AL East team to catch them. CC is back and starts tomorrows game. Lets roll.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
Here come the Tigers. I really hope this is the Tigers we've been waiting for all season and not just a mirage. Cabrera's usual summer-heat transcendence is emerging, Fielder's power is coming around, Austin Jackson has scored in 13 straight and 19 of 20 in front of them. Justin Verlander is still a big game star, no matter what his all star game performance showed you. Last year's Brennan Boesch finally showed up. Can't count on Delmon pounding 4 in 4 games again... and Max Scherzer has the consistency of lumpy potatoes... But they're getting on base now in front of the mashers, and those guys are doing their job.
Friday is going to be great - Chris Sale vs Justin Verlander, and both offenses have been cranking on all cylinders.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
Hard to believe the NL batting champ of a few years ago (Hanley Ramirez) is dead last in the entire NL in road batting average more than halfway through the season. Hitting .182 away from Marlins Park coming into tonight.
