Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
It's not Weaver/Verlander, but I do have tickets for tonight's Wilson/Verlander duel in Anaheim.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
Brandon McCarthy looks like he is doing better. He responded to Patrick Willis on twitter.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
I wonder if some day you might see someone try to pitch in one of those hockey style masks or a bike helmet et cetera. You damned sure got very little time for reflexes on the mound.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
Washington was right for shutting down Strasburg but you can tell he was stressing about it the last few starts. The whole sitution was handled horrible and seem to do alot of harm to Strasburg this last month

I've yet to hear a reasonable explanation as to why they couldn't have skipped him in the rotation a few times throughout the year to keep his innings down and have him available in the playoffs. Skip him once a month, on both sides of the all-star break or whatever. I just don't get why it had to be a complete shutdown for when they need him the most.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
They could have done what the Braves did w/ Medlen. Start him out in the bullpen and then move him back to the rotation at the end of the season, but the Nats probably didn't expect to be in the division lead when they made the decision.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
But that's the difference. The Braves had a plan from the get-go that allowed him to be available come October. The Nats were clearly not expecting to be this good this soon.

Also... Angels beat Verlander 6-1. Ejections everywhere, good crowd, and a Mike Trout show.
Great game.

Re: 2012 Baseball Season Discussion Thread
Teixeira out for at least four games and possibly the season. Not good for the Yankees.

Mike Trout's WAR is at 9.9. Cano is in second at 6.1.

Trout with another leadoff HR. He's killed the Tigers in this series.
