It is September 20. The Tigers? Still technically in it. And the reason this is killing every Tigers fan you know is because they've played just well enough (read: ridden the burdened backs of Jackson, Scherzer, Verlander, Cabrera, Fielder) to keep hope alive. Just long enough to make us believe that the potential we all believe is there actually is. They can still win this. They can still be AL Central champs, and ride the momentum through the post-season as they did in 2006, or the way they moved to the ALCS last year. But we're all ****ing sick of waiting for it. SERIOUSLY sick of it. Can 2012 PLEASE ****ING END. Seriously. Win, lose... I'm sick of it! The fact is that we're all tired of it. The frustrating thing is: they've still got all that talent on the roster, still got all the pieces that got RED ****ING HOT in September last year. They're there! There's still enough time! Hell, if they stay this close hope will reign until we get to game 162 and we're eliminated on the final day. And it is driving me balls out nuts.

Not enjoying meaningful September baseball? I can tell you as a brewer fan who thought their season was over halfway through July this is fantastic.

The frustrating thing is - it doesn't feel like contending baseball. They're driving me nuts because there's still this part of me that looks at the talent they have and knows: this is a team that legitimately could rattle off a 12-3 run to end the season. They haven't had a singe hot run like that all year, though, and most of me is resigned to the fact that it'll take a major White Sox collapse to even have a hope right now.

A pennant race is always fun for the team that wasnt supposed to be there (White Sox).. The Tigers were supposed to win this abortion of a division easily..

What pisses me off the most is if we could get into the playoffs (I say we have about a 10% of getting in) I love our team for a playoff run.. Verlander, Fister and Scherzer? I like our chances in any series with those 3

But hey.. we sure gave Ryan Raburn, Brandon Inge, Brennan Boesch and every other bum on this roster every chance this year.. so.. we can feel good about that right?

Based on what I've heard from fans and the radio Tigers fans and White Sox fans are basically taking turns panicking.. I think I'm going to develop a baseball ulcer. The magic number is 12... and god damn does that seem high after back-to-back losses.

edit: actually three losses in a row, forgot we dropped the last two to the mighty Royals of Kansas City.

Braves have a six game lead over the second wild card team, but I just know they are going to get eliminated. It is actually pissing me off people are making assumptions about the playoffs after what happened last season.

So here is the question now. Stephen A. Smith is on Sportscenter, being a perfect whiny little bitch. Should we enjoy this because it's like Joek crying for his Momma or should we turn the channel because the A stands for annoying asshole. I do like to watch Yankees fans crying, but it is my policy to change the channel every time Stephen Ass or Skippy come on it.
