Re: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2012 POSTSEASON

The YANKEES and Andy Pettitte, the best left handed pitcher in baseball over the past twenty years have come to a mutual agreement for the 2013 season. Slowly but surely the pieces are coming together for the YANKEES for 2013.

Rivera has been signed for one year. That gives the YANKEES the best shortstop, Jeter, best left handed pitcher, Pettitte, and the best closer Rivera, in baseball over the past twenty years on the roster for one more season.

Hey joke - how bout them Yankees. A team that couldn't win WHEN IT COUNTED last year, is standing pat with the same players. That sounds rough.

That happens when you lose the best player in baseball in the first game of a series.

I thought the best player in baseball was determined by WIN METHOD, joke? By virtue of your own so-called system Derek Jeter hasn't been the best player in baseball in YEARS. The Yankees last won the World Series in 2009. Therefore in 2010, 2011, and 2012 - Derek Jeter could not possibly have been the best player in baseball.

Not only that but he's no longer winning gold gloves, so even the notoriously blind writers are admitting he no longer has range in the field. He had a stellar year in 2012 at the plate, but prior to the age of 35 this year would have been a DISTINCTLY down year for him. He fails the eye tests and the statistical ones.

Additionally: this was not a freak injury. According to the medical reports, Derek Jeter's leg was simply put due to break at any time. It wasn't a matter of him falling prey to a bad twist, or some freak application of pressure. Derek Jeter has been on the field so often (a virtue, of course, I'm not in any way decrying his grit and gusto) - that his leg was simply due to break. So if Jeter has so many miles on his body that his BONES are snapping, he's now also injury prone.

Derek Jeter? Best player in baseball? At his age? C'mon joke, even you have to know that that's bunk.

I think you are reading into Jeters injury a make believe scenario. Jeter was playing the last six weeks of the season hurt and his give it all mental attitude (that of a champion), was probably the biggest culprit in the injury. Jeter will be fine and as good as new. No argument from the WIN METHOD on Jeter not being the best shortstop the last few years, and even over his career he was not the best shortstop most of the years. However over his career he has been the best more times than any other shortstop, then throw in the second bests, and then throw in the top five or six and over his career, he has been the best shortstop in the game. His range has always been exception except in the eyes of the stat fraud freaks who die by meaningless man man convoluted stat formulas. What he does even now is better than most. Offensively, just amazing. and yes he should start tailing off, but he is better then most in every which way.
