Re: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2012 POSTSEASON
The YANKEES and Andy Pettitte, the best left handed pitcher in baseball over the past twenty years have come to a mutual agreement for the 2013 season. Slowly but surely the pieces are coming together for the YANKEES for 2013.

Re: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2012 POSTSEASON
Rivera has been signed for one year. That gives the YANKEES the best shortstop, Jeter, best left handed pitcher, Pettitte, and the best closer Rivera, in baseball over the past twenty years on the roster for one more season.

Re: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2012 POSTSEASON
Hey joke - how bout them Yankees. A team that couldn't win WHEN IT COUNTED last year, is standing pat with the same players. That sounds rough.

Quote:
Not only that but he's no longer winning gold gloves, so even the notoriously blind writers are admitting he no longer has range in the field. He had a stellar year in 2012 at the plate, but prior to the age of 35 this year would have been a DISTINCTLY down year for him. He fails the eye tests and the statistical ones. Additionally: this was not a freak injury. According to the medical reports, Derek Jeter's leg was simply put due to break at any time. It wasn't a matter of him falling prey to a bad twist, or some freak application of pressure. Derek Jeter has been on the field so often (a virtue, of course, I'm not in any way decrying his grit and gusto) - that his leg was simply due to break. So if Jeter has so many miles on his body that his BONES are snapping, he's now also injury prone. Derek Jeter? Best player in baseball? At his age? C'mon joke, even you have to know that that's bunk.
