TFC trio under investigation will not face Dynamo
The three Toronto FC players who were arrested for public intoxication Sunday morning in Houston will not be available to play Wednesday against the Dynamo as the investigation into the incident continues. Defender Miguel Aceval and midfielders Nick Soolsma and Luis Silva were not with the club on Tuesday as the team prepared for its upcoming game, head coach Paul Mariner told Toronto FC TV on Tuesday. “We’re working very closely with the league office and the players union,” Mariner said. ”It’s an ongoing situation. We’re listening to what they say and until the investigation is complete that’s all I can tell you. “They are not presently with the club and because the investigation is going on they won’t be available for Wednesday and we’ll see what transpires over the next few days.” The three were arrested after police were called to Club Escobar in Houston's Midtown neighborhood because of a disturbance outside the club. A court date has been set for Aug. 2. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...ot-face-dynamo |

Reds Held As Houston Claws Back
![]() Toronto sees a tremendous first half performance muted in 3-3 draw at Dynamo's new digs. HOUSTON – In a midweek thriller, Houston used some late magic from sophomore striker Will Bruin in to save a 3-3 result against Toronto FC and stay undefeated in BBVA Compass Stadium. Bruin got his seventh and eighth goals of the season, leaving it late to pull his team back from a 3-1 deficit. His home heroics overshadowed a fantastic first half performance from Toronto Designated Player Danny Koevermans, who showed what a crafty striker can do by finding space in Houston’s backline and notching a brace of his own. http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2012/06...ton-claws-back |

Recap: Revolution rally for last-gasp 2-2 draw with TFC
![]() TORONTO – Paul Mariner has many good memories from his days as an assistant coach with the New England Revolution. But he won’t remember as fondly his first match against them as the head coach of Toronto FC. Minutes from his first victory in his third game as coach of the Reds, Mariner saw his team surrender another two-goal lead as Chris Tierney scored in stoppage time to give the Revolution last-gasp a 2-2 draw at BMO Field on Saturday. http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter...tor-v-ne/recap |

Rampant Reds throttle Impact 3-0 in Montreal ![]() MONTREAL – All eyes were on new Impact DP Marco Di Vaio Wednesday night, but Toronto FC ended up stealing the show with a dominant 3-0 win at Stade Saputo. Torsten Frings scored the first at the 52nd minute, a powerful free kick blasted in from 22 yards. Ryan Johnson added the insurance marker in the 72nd, while Danny Koevermans added insult to injury at the 78th. http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter...tl-v-tor/recap |

Toronto FC's Emory gets valuable lesson vs. Red Bulls
![]() TORONTO – Toronto FC head coach Paul Mariner says his young back four are learning on the job – and doing so quickly. Central defender Logan Emory showed what Mariner meant on Saturday at BMO Field, with a tackle in the 76th minute that preserved a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls. The 23-year-old was quick to react after Thierry Henry’s pass put Joel Lindpere through on the Toronto goal, making a sliding, saving tackle to knock the ball away. “Logan Emory, for me, is a bit of an unsung hero,” said Mariner, who signed Emory after seeing him play with Orlando City during preseason. “He’s one of those guys who go underneath the radar. He sort of very, very quietly goes about his business extremely well." For Emory, it was a lesson learned from a 2-1 loss to the Montreal Impact back on April 7, a game in which he picked up a red card for his tackle in a similar situation. This time, his starting position was better. “It’s just being in the right spot,” Emory said after Saturday’s match. “I trust the right side that they’re going to stop things but if they don’t then I have to be there and today I was lucky enough to get a foot on it. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...n-vs-red-bulls |

Tied Up In Dallas
![]() Danny Koevermans strikes again in Reds & Hoops 1-1 draw FRISCO, Texas – Toronto FC continued their revival under head coach Paul Mariner, extending their unbeaten streak to five games with a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas at a sold-out FC Dallas Stadium on Wednesday. The draw continued the home side’s slump, extending their franchise-record winless streak to 12 games, now tied for the fifth-longest in MLS history. FCD jumped out to a dream start with their earliest goal of the season. In the fifth minute, a Daniel Hernandez corner was cleared to Jackson 35 yards from goal. The Brazilian sent a curling ball to Andrew Jacobson, whose smart header back across the box was in turn headed home by Zach Loyd for his second goal of the year. http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2012/07...to-tied-dallas |

Recap:
Dunfield's goal at the death leads TFC over 'Caps ![]() TORONTO – Terry Dunfield's header in the final seconds of stoppage time secured a 3-2 win for Toronto FC over the Vancouver Whitecaps after a wild second half. Dunfield, who was traded by Vancouver to Toronto three days shy of a year prior to the match, found himself in the center of the box and rose highest to get his head to a corner from Torsten Frings. The winner came just after TFC goalkeeper Milos Kocic missed a punch on a cross lofted into the box that allowed Darren Mattocks to score his second goal of the game and sixth of the season in the 90th minute. Mattocks also scored five minutes in half to put the Whitecaps into the lead after a deadlocked first half http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter...or-v-van/recap |

Kick Off:
Toronto continue makeover, ship DP to Dallas ![]() Just as Toronto FC is beginning to move — 2-1-4 in their last seven — it looks like they are moving one of their biggest names. Canadian international Julian De Guzman has been traded to FC Dallas in exchange for midfielder Andrew Wiedeman. The trade looks good for both sides, clearing up cap space and opening up a DP slot for TFC and providing struggling FCD — winless in 13 matches — with the defensive-midfield presence they’ve lacked this year. De Guzman could be available when Dallas travel to Colorado on Saturday night (9 pm ET, live stream on MLS LIVE) http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...ped-out-dallas |

Silva Sensation
Rookie midfielder strikes in 1-0 win away to New England ![]() Photo: Luis Silva strikes the winning shot against New England (Getty) FOXBOROUGH, MA – Toronto FC coach Paul Mariner enjoyed a winning return to Gillette Stadium as Luis Silva's eighth-minute goal gave the Reds a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution. Silva combined with Danny Koevermans on the edge of the penalty area and slotted home his second goal in as many games to separate the sides. New England searched ardently for an equalizer in the second half, but TFC goalkeeper Milos Kocic intervened on several occasions to preserve the points. http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2012/07...in-toronto-win |

Rampant Reds
Silva has goal, two assists as Toronto steamroll Águila in opener ![]() TORONTO – Toronto FC stressed the importance of winning their home games as they entered the 2012-13 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League. They also wanted to put on a good show at BMO Field after their dud in a 2-0 loss to the Houston Dynamo in a league game last Saturday. It was mission accomplished on both counts on Wednesday night, as the Reds flattened Salvadoran side Águila with a 5-1 victory in their Group 1 opener. http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter...or-v-cda/recap |
