Like I said at first? I thought that was at least a sporting chance Bell was gone, but I also said that Smith, Bo Outlaw and Big Jake were possibilities. Looks like Charlotte is interested in low salary expiring contracts...

Theron isn't going to set the world on fire, but he's a good little player. If this is true, then I wish him the best in Charlotte.

I'm sorry to say but Theron won't even make the roster. I have been hearing over and over that the Bobcats will keep, at best, 4 players from the expansion draft. I don' think that Theron is talented enough yet to keep himself on this roster. He probably will be cut, which leaves him with a better opportunity altogether though. He probably will just try to vie for a spot on a roster next year during a summer-league try-out. Good Luck buddy, because of the best of my knowledge, your not going to make the Bobcats squad.

Charlotte did select Smith. I'm glad Troy Bell isn't going anywhere, but I did like Theron.

Did you even read what I wrote big guy?

Now I know that you might have these big expectations for Theron Smith, but do you realize that Theron only played 8 minutes a game in 20 some games last year? He averaged 2 points a game? Hmm, it seems to be that those stats suck. Ouu wow, he played on a Memphis team who won 50 games during the season.The Pacers won 61 and had some horrible players on there team. Jamison Brewer? Yes, horrible. Averaged about the same numbers as Theron. James Jones? Yes, horrible.

Sorry to go off on you like that, but I had to check you up. I don't care what the Bobcats said about Theron Smith. "He's the sleeper of the expansion draft" Ouu, wow. Bernie, how long have you been coaching in this league? How long have you been a GM? I'll agree with you the same time you develop Theron Smith into a world-class top notch NBA sure fine All-Star. Then, I'll certainly agree with your statement, but until then, develop your resume.

I'm going to have to disagree and say Theron Smith is there to stay. He's actually a very talented player. He played so well during the last summer league games, proving he was one of the best rookies from last year's draft.

I'll just say the bobcats have done some real research. They did well on the expansion, way better than I could have imagined. NOt to mention they even got the #2 pick...

If theron gets cut from the bobcats I expect him to be re-signed to the grizzlies. He is a very talented player. bobcats know that. they picked him over troy, daunghtay, outlaw, big jake.

Everyone must know up front that I'm just arguing and that I don't have any ill-will against anyone. With that said, what the **** are you talking about with that statement. One of the best rookies in last years draft?? Did you see his stats?!?! How could you possibly say that. Playing well in summer leagues doesn't mean squat in this league. All it means is that you will get a tryout to make the roster in the upcoming season, which Theron did. How could you possibly say that he was one of the best rookies of last years class. Are you freaking kidding me?? Ludicrous!? Proposterous!? Damnit to Hell!?

Talented? Yes. So is every other player in this damn league. And they picked Theron because he has an amazingly horrid contract compared to that of Dahntay Troy, Outlaw, and Big Jake. Think this through, Theron was only making 620,000 dollars with the Grizzlies. The others were all making guarenteed million plus. That is why the Bobcats selected him.

I don't think judging him just from his overall stats is that fair. He never got consistent minutes, and rookies tend to struggle if they aren't given the minutes to get into the flow of the game.

Hey, looking at his stats, he's a damn good 3 pt shooter then. 50%, does that make him the best 3 pt shooter in the league? Of course not, but that's just it, he hasn't been given the minutes, he hasn't been given the chance.

If the bobcats release him, then it's their loss. I'd like to pick him back up. He IS a good player.

Heck, bobcats weren't as smart as I thought, for they traded ZaZa for a 2nd rounder to Milwaukee. I guess I won't be too surprised the Theorn is waived.

The Grizz were very high on Theron. He didn't play a lot of minutes but the point is what he did when he was on the floor. He played within himself, ran the offense, played good D, and didn't force shots. Our other rookies ran amuck when they got in. Jones had a good game against the Sonics & then proceded to come unglued after that. He seemed to forget all about defense & started throwing shots up from all over the place, which got him promptly put back on the bench. Bell, well, he just never got to play. So we really don't know what he can do.

I think they believe both Jones & Bell will contribute this year. At least they'll get more P/T unless they start acting like rookies again.
