Guess West's next move...
Just wanted to hear some ideas on what people think Jerry West has planned next. He is one of the most unpredictable GMs in the game because he can control leaks better than most.
Here is my 1st guess as the big trade of the summer for the Grizzlies:
Bonzi Wells, Earl Watson, Ryan Humphrey, Dahntay Jones, Stromille Swift and Bo Outlaw
for
Ron Artest, Austin Croshere, Scott Pollard and Jeff Foster
New Roster
PG J Will, Troy Bell, Antonio Burks
SG James Posey, Mike Miller, Andre Emmett
SF Ron Artest, Shane Battier, Austin Croshere
PF Pau Gasol, Brian Cardinal, Scott Pollard
C Jeff Foster, Lorenzen Wright

IMO you should change positions between Croshere and Cardinal.
Your trade don't look bad for us, but I prefer to trade for Dampier.

Cardinal and Swift for Dampier in a sign and trade would be hillarious, but probably too good to be true.
Second guess would be some sort of deal for one of these Centers who produce Big numbers per 48 min but were short on MPG. I like Mihm.
NAME MPG ORPG DRPG RP48
Jeff Foster 23.9 3.0 4.4 14.9
Chris Mihm 17.5 2.1 3.4 14.9
Nazr Mohammed 20.1 2.2 3.7 14.1

I honestly think that the next move coming is S&Ted Erick Dampier @ $9 million starting for a S&Ted Stromile Swift @ $6 million starting + Earl Watson (or Shane Battier) + Ryan Humphrey + Cash (enough to cover Humphrey's salary).
Not too creative, but realistically, I think Dampier for some of our guys is coming.
Memphis
PG Jason Williams, Antonio Burks
SG Bonzi Wells, Mike Miller, Dahntay Jones
SF James Posey, Shane Battier
PF Pau Gasol, Brian Cardinal, Bo Outlaw
C Erick Dampier, Lorenzen Wright
IR - Troy Bell, Andre Emmett, Jake Tsakalidis (resigned)
Golden State
PG Earl Watson, Speedy Claxton
SG Jason Richardson, Nick Van Exel
SF Mike Dunleavy, Mickael Pietrus
PF Troy Murphy, Cliff Robinson
C Adonal Foyle, Andris Biedrins, Evan Eschmeyer
Possibly cut - Ryan Humphrey

Mike Miller and Troy Bell for Ron Artest. I know West love Miller but Miller hasn't contributed to the team at all yet. I read somewhere that Hubie would love Artest on the team so why not. Bird gets rid of Artest plus gain two really good shooters.

Some other ideas...
Trade Stromile Swift ($6 million starting), Bonzi Wells and Dahntay Jones to the Boston Celtics for Paul Pierce. I'd love to get ahold of Jiri Welsch, but unfortunately, there'd be no room for him here.
Memphis
PG Jason Williams, Earl Watson, Antonio Burks
SG Paul Pierce, Mike Miller
SF James Posey, Shane Battier
PF Pau Gasol, Brian Cardinal, Bo Outlaw
C Lorenzen Wright, Jake Tsakalidis (resigned)
IR - Troy Bell, Ryan Humphrey
Boston
PG Marcus Banks, Chucky Atkins, Delonte West
SG Bonzi Wells, Dahntay Jones, Tony Allen
SF Jiri Welsch, Ricky Davis
PF Walter McCarty, Al Jefferson
C Raef LaFrentz, Kendrick Perkins
IR - Jumaine Jones, Michael Stewart
Of course, we'd then make a move for a real center. Or try signing a big stiff for the minimum.
Trade Stromile Swift ($6 million starting), Bonzi Wells and Bo Outlaw for Ray Allen and Jerome James.
Memphis
PG Jason Williams, Earl Watson, Antonio Burks
SG Ray Allen, Mike Miller, Dahntay Jones
SF James Posey, Shane Battier
PF Pau Gasol, Brian Cardinal
C Jerome James, Lorenzen Wright
IR - Troy Bell, Jake Tsakalidis (resigned), Ryan Humphrey
Seattle
PG Luke Ridnour, Antonio Daniels
SG Bonzi Wells, Flip Murray
SF Rashard Lewis, Vlad Radmanovic
PF Stromile Swift, Nick Collison, Bo Outlaw
C Calvin Booth, Vitaly Potapenko, Robert Swift
IR - Reggie Evans

I don't like that Seattle trade very much to be honest. (from Seattles point of view). Memphis just sort of dumps off all their logjams, leaving little playing time for Collison. In addition, we have to take mildly overpaid contracts of Bo Outlaw and Bonzi Wells. Also, Memphis gets young 7'1'' (mini diesel) in Jerome James....who's 5$ million contract expires at the end of the year. The sonics would love to have the Stro Show, but not by taking Outlaw and Well's expensive contract, and giving up our best player. Replace James' with Booth and it sounds fair .

Fortson also said "he wouldn't doubt it" if there were a gay player in the NBA but hopes he's not a Sonic.
"That would be a bad deal," Fortson said. "He might want to keep that one in the closet."

Huh? Bonzi Wells and Bo Outlaw combine to make $13 million of expiring salary.
In fact, every salary in that trade is expiring, besides Swift's.

I predict him to get in a fight with Jerry West and the feud escalates when WWE gets word and schedules a hardcore lumberjack match at SummerSlam. Loser Leaves Town. Jerry West, looking more cut in a pair of tights than one might expect, defeats Andre Emmett when Bob Knight runs through the audience and turns heel by crushing Emmett's head in with a chair. The crowd boos the dastardly Knight (JR - "THAT DAMN BOB KNIGHT!"), but cheers Emmett who walks disappointedly back to the locker room, knowing that he got a raw deal.
...Actually, I just forgot him. Put him on the IR on both squads.

Memphis trades: SF Bo Outlaw (4.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 19.6 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.8 minutes)
SF Mike Miller (11.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.6 apg in 27.2 minutes)
Memphis receives: SF Glenn Robinson (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes)
SF Todd MacCulloch (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes)
C Samuel Dalembert (8.0 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 26.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -0.5 ppg, -0.3 rpg, and -3.5 apg.
Philadelphia trades: SF Glenn Robinson (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes)
SF Todd MacCulloch (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes)
C Samuel Dalembert (8.0 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 26.8 minutes)
Philadelphia receives: SF Bo Outlaw (4.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 82 games)
PF Stromile Swift (9.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 77 games)
SF Mike Miller (11.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.6 apg in 65 games)
Change in team outlook: +0.5 ppg, +0.3 rpg, and +3.5 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Terrible? Horrible? Thoughts?
If Phili were to make this trade Swift and Miller would both start. Miller has point guard skills and could bring the ball up. In the future a Miller, Iguodala and Iverson tandem would be used with Miller setting up the offense, with Iverson running off screens and guarding the threes on the defensive ends, leaving Iverson to guard the point guards.
For Mem Dalembert would be a great complement to Gasol int he post and Robinson could either start or provide points of the bench.

since when did Todd play SF? And what are the chances that he has the exact same stats as Glenn?
Anyway, Todd's knees gave up on him, so he's useless. Glenn is a horrible defender, and is old and declining. We have a similar player in Mike Miller already. Dalembert is a nice player, but the other two players are simply not good enough considering how much we're giving up.

Bo and Bonzi are expiring contracts, as someone pointed out. I'm surprised you think they're overpaid tho, considering how crazy most of this offseason's signings have been. Bo is a great hussle and high energy player, and Bonzi is easily a 16ppg scorer if he weren't playing in hubie's system.
