Thanks Lakers

Thanks for making the worst trade in professional sports. Thanks for moving the most dominate player in the game to the East. A special thanks is due to Jerry & Mitch for giving away the most dominate player in the game. I'm sure you're fans will remember that for a long time,....a very, very, long time.

I wonder if the Laker fans even know what the lottery is? Well, if not, I think they may be finding out soon,....like next summer soon.

This is far from the worst trade in professional sports. I can immediately think of a worse and more idiotic trade: when Stu Jackson traded Steve Francis for NOTHING back when the Grizzlies were still in Vancouver. Don't kid yourself. The Lakers had to trade him. Would you rather trade him this offseason and get something in return or just keep Shaq, let him ***** about the Lakers organization (rightfully) and not even try the whole season, then lose him to free agency? Although they gave up the most dominant big man in the game, they got some very good players in return. If they didn't trade him, the same people saying this was an awful trade would be mocking the Lakers organization next offseason for not taking it (because Shaq would opt out). Shaq wanted and had to go.

I understand they had to trade Shaq UKfan4Life. There is a huge difference between "trading" a player and "giving him away". The Lakers got nothing in return when compared to what they gave up. Additionally, none of this would have happened if Mitch & Jerry would simply have kept their mouths shut after the Detroit loss. They created this mess.

Kobe & Shaq never got along, so that wasn't new. But they got the job done on the court. Laker management created this mess all by themselves.

Riley took them to the cleaners on this one. If that's all the Lakers can get for, what is still, the most dominate player in the game then they are in need of a management change. And this basically falls squarely on the shoulders of the owner. Mitch is just doing what he's told. Jerry single handedly destroyed this team, mostly with his mouth. This move wasn't a business decision by Jerry. This was personal, which is bad business.

Not that I mind. It's all good as far as the rest of the Western conference is concerned. We only have to face the big guy twice now. This trade didn't change a team it's changed an entire conference. Hey, I'm happy about it. The Lakers go from a power to an also ran. They lose the most dominate player in the game, They get their pocket picked by Riley. And they get a chance to play the lottery. So, whats the down side? If your a Grizz fan, none that I can see, aside from the fact we didn't get Shaq.

Now, if Kobe signs with the Clips, or is found guilty, this really turns into the biggest fiasco in sports history. Better them than us.

Well when you have to trade the most dominant player in the league, it's not like you're going to get a player just as dominant in return. The Lakers certainly won't be as good anymore, but it's not like this trade was down right despicable. I'm happy about it too. They're not that good anymore, and the way this trade occured (from everything you said about the Lakers organization) is a little despicable, but it's not like the Lakers got some scrubs in return. When you have to trade the most dominant player in the league, you're not going to be on the winning side of the trade.
