Last game was the first time I can remember Pau overcoming a horrible start and asserting himself later in the game. He is really growing as a player and I expect him to have another 20/10 game tonight.

Strange injury to Stoudamire early in the second half. He planted that right foot on a drive, and the whole leg buckled. I hope it's nothing serious, but we might be looking at a longterm injury.
It's a good thing Bobby Jackson's back, but without Damon, we're minus a distributor, and we don't have a lot of those on this team, especially since Mike Miller also sprained an ankle.

Pete just said that he's hearing that Damon only has a sprained right knee. He won't be back tonight, obviously. I hope that he is correct and the injury is no more severe than that. It looked scary. Damon has been huge for us this season.

I'm getting the Blazers feed so I'm not sure. terrible loss, going off the court on a stretcher is a scary thing

Blazers' people say that they've talked to a member of Damon's family and have heard that it is a torn patella tendon.
God, I hope not.
I'm sure we'll hear more fairly soon.

Re: Dec. 30, 2005: Grizzlies at Blazers Official Game Thread
A torn patella tendon would put him out for the year, without much question.
I hope it's just a sprained knee, like Pete keeps saying, but if it's worse, then we're in some trouble. Damon has saved our backsides for two straight games, came up huge in the Detroit game, and is our top clutch shooter.
I'll take what Damon's posse has to say with a grain of salt for now, but a sprained knee usually doesn't involve a stretcher though. I'm glad Antonio's been logging some minutes this season, because it looked like we might need him even more now.
Mike Miller's back in the game, which is great to see, because he's capable of playing the point in short stretches.
What's with Fratello's "hair" tonight?

Heh. A friend of mine just said the same thing. Probably pulling his hair out thinking two of his best players were injured the same night.
I really can't believe Mike Miller is out there. It looked pretty nasty when he rolled his ankle.

Lead's down to 7. I don't know if I can take another close one.
Get some stops, guys.

I guess you'd have to say that it is Fratello's choice at this point. Cardinal hasn't played since that horrible stretch against Utah. I haven't heard anything about him being injured. But it is very possible that he's still having knee troubles.
I like Hakim Warrick getting minutes anyway.
