Jan. 30, 2006: Grizzlies vs Rockets Official Game Thread
Chucky finally gets the start over Bobby. He has five of our seven points, and Lorenzen has the other two. Go figure.
Yao is also returning this game, so we'll be taking on a whole Rockets squad tonight.
7-7 early.

Now we just need to find a way to integrate Jake into the starting lineup.
One of the most-awkward players in the league, but at least his size allows him to finish in the paint.

Holy lottery team, Batman, we can't score...

Jake is kicking ***.
Too bad Bobby can't hit a barn.

Jake is simply more effective than Ren at this point...I am not even sure that is good.
Bobby Jackson is irritating.
People crying about Franchise and Marbury need to get a load of Bobby Jackson's schtick.

SportsCenter highlights:
Quote:
Yao hitting a shot.
Yao getting a pretty standard block on Pau.
Tracy McGrady hitting a midrange jumper.
Mike Miller hitting a three.
|
Sounds about right for ESPN, even though we won by nine points, Yao got embarrassed by Jake Tsakalidis half the time, and McGrady was held to 10-26 FG. It's one thing to show highlights of the marketable stars (though I question it for a supposed sports news segment), but to show positive highlights of the stars who got beat and had mediocre games...
Not to mention that Houston has the worst record in the West and has done nothing to merit more highlights other than having two stars on the roster.

Don't worry T Mac and Yao should be getting plenty of face time during the lottery show on TNT. Maybe even an interview.

Agree. But what if Franchise becomes available, come to think of it. He'd give you a point guard and the second scorer you could use. I've always much preferred Stevie over Mebury.

I like Francis' but I think his mouth will keep him otu of Memphis. He trashed the city after we kicked his *** when he was a Rockt.

Re: Jan. 30, 2006: Grizzlies vs Rockets Official Game Thread
One thing I can't comprehend is why we stopped playing Lawrence Roberts. The dude can rebound and even though he's not the superstar big time bruiser we could use, his rebounding and presence would boost us so much. He had some great rebounding games for a second round rookie, and then we stopped playing him. Why? I was hoping he would get at least moderate playing time over the course of the season and then replace Lorenzen in March or April in the starting line up.
Hell, put Jake in the starting line up to replace Ren. He doesn't take stupid mid-range jump shots that he can't hit.
