Our President of Basketball Operations is more conservative than George W. Bush. We'll be below .500 with the Warriors in no time, and by then, the trading deadline will have passed.

And here's a brief synopsis of our future: We'll lose Lorenzen and Bobby's expiring deals, while Eddie Jones' contract (and career) ticks down to worthlessness. We'll draft some four-year college player in the lottery, so he can rot on the end of the bench until he's 24 or 25 years old.

And then we'll make a move. Not a big one though. Like Dahntay for some similar, older player who, despite being on winning teams in the past, won't win us a game in the playoffs now because he's three-plus seasons past his prime.

I've been wondering what Memphis' record was since Stoudamire got hurt.It has to be really bad.I thought they were the third best team in the West earlier this season,but they simply have to have a better PG to save their season.

Brevin Knight is probably the best PG that might be available ...Unless you want Steve Francis or Stephon Marbury with their enormous contracts and the other stuff too.

We went 5-1 in our first six games without Damon Stoudamire.

Since then, everyone and their brother has figured us out, and we've gone 3-12 since Jan. 14.

You may bring Potapenko from Sonics, and move Jake Tsakalidis to Atlanta, with Delk going to Seattle

Jake's a better basketball player (though not as strong) and much bigger than Pocrapenko.

Seriously, what the hell happened with West? Is he gun shy as the GM for Memphis? I mean not even trying to do anything at the deadline. Or even last few yrs knowing you need some more star help. And I'm sure he could get a deal done if he just explored it seriously.

I swear, if you guys were GM you would probably have Paul Pierce by the deadline somehow. Or even at least something.

Not to defend Jerry's faults, but I do think Heisley's handcuffing him until we put butts in the seats, which isn't going to happen:

1) without having a superstar (which will most likely cost superstar-money) and/or;
2) because of Mike Fratello's boring, boring, boring offenses.

Its never going to happen, even if we get a more uptempo offense and a superstar type player. The more I think about it, the more I realise downtown was just a terrible place to put the forum.

I think it's great from an aesthetic standpoint, and it's location there has (apparently) led to downtown getting cleaned up a bit.

But no one has any money there. At least not the kind of money where they can shell out $40+ a pop for a two-hour ball game once a week.

You know the soccer fields around the Forest Hill exit on 385? Should've put it there, IMO. People in Collierville and Germantown - the places with the money - don't want to drive 45 minutes in Memphis traffic to make it to the basketball games.

And the Memphis Tigers, who have a more exciting (though less structured) offense than the Grizzlies, have been incredible this year.
