I remember back a season or two ago that Jerry West wasn't a fan of Pau Gasol and was always looking to move him. Is this still the case? What is his longterm situation here? Is it secure, or still up in the air?

You are confusing media specualtion with reality. Gasol probably could have been had for an All NBA type but not just generally available.

The guy has to be pretty much untouchable. He has taken his play to another echelon and he is going to get better.

NBA players are investments and this guy is a pure blue chip. Its great to see a guy take his game up a notch into the kind of play that wins championships and provides leadership.

You don't trade these guys for players on the same level or a bit below for anything.Draft picks or no draft picks. There is no point.

I want to see him in the playoffs this year, cramming on Duncan and whoever and I think we will all see his maturation as a player against the best defenses and best teams.
