I have read in a sports newspaper, here in spain, that the home court advantage is for the team with best record, so if Memphis in the sixth place has a better record than Denven in the third Memphis will have home court advantage in play offs. Is this true?

That's true. Despite Denver being the third seed, the sixth seed will still get home court advantage if its record is better.
