Is Jerry West thinking of blowing it up?
Jerry West interview
It seems to me that he is thinking about it seriously.
What is your interpretation?

Re: Is Jerry West thinking of blowing it up?
Haven't listened to the interview, but hopefully West is catching on...
Here's a "small" trade with the Bucks. I'm still holding out hope that we get another Top 20 player on the team, but that hope has faded by the month for going on two years now.
Memphis Sends
Eddie Jones
Jake Tsakalidis
Anthony Roberson
Milwaukee Sends
Jamaal Magloire
Mo Williams
Dan Gadzuric
Draft
Draft Saer Sene at No. 24
Trade for Dee Brown in the second round
Free agency and other offseason moves
Adios, Bobby and Ren...try trading for a 20 ppg wing player, if possible. Ricky Davis, Corey Maggette...whatever...just get one using any combination of Mike, Shane, Dahntay, Hakim or Cardinal. But assuming West doesn't do that...
2006-07 Grizzlies
PG Damon Stoudamire, Mo Williams, Dee Brown
SG Mike Miller, Dahntay Jones
SF Shane Battier, Hakim Warrick
PF Pau Gasol, Lawrence Roberts, Brian Cardinal*
C Jamaal Magloire, Dan Gadzuric, Saer Sene
* Probably injured
...it looks better than last year's team.
Whatever the case, I'd rather not go back to the 20-30 win teams of the past. Even in the Greg Oden draft where we'd have at best a 25 percent chance to get him.

Re: Is Jerry West thinking of blowing it up?
Bucks wouldn't move Magloire and Gadz to the same team, and just for Jones, an expiring contract (like maggs already have) and Tsaka? Gadz alone is better than Tsaka... You can work a move for Gadz involving Tsaka... But Bucks would never do this for just Eddie and Tsaka, knowing that they can get better value for Magloire...
But I'll do a trade with Boston, moving Eddie, a resigned Wright, Cardinal and Battier for Pierce, Raef Lafrentz, Scalabrine and Dickau... Boston won't lose much in this move, and they add some good role players (like Cardinal and Wright), and replace some of Pierce good defense with Eddie Jones and Battier, taking off some pressure off the youngsters... I think that is more easy to happen than your Bucks idea. I can see Ainge doing a major move like this...
In Memphis side, Pierce is the star that will rock with Gasol, Dickau is a useful backup PG to replace BJax, Raef may be overpaid, but he is a better overall player than Wright, and Veal can replace some of Cardinal production... (and taking on Raef and Veal big contracts is the price to get Pierce...)

More than likely Magloire will be moved, but not Gadzuric. They want Gadzuric to back up Bogut.

Re: Is Jerry West thinking of blowing it up?
Well, it looks like I interpreted correctly. Everyone on the Grizz pitiful roster available except Pau. Jerry looking to retool. Hopefully, this ends with a top pick this year (1-5), MAX cap room in 2007, an additional championship level starter 25 or younger, and a trip to the lottery for the strongest draft in perhaps 10 years.

Re: Is Jerry West thinking of blowing it up?
What are the chances West dealt Battier AND Miller to division rivals Houston? Slim? None? Please?
