Dahntay Jones leads the Baron Davis All-Stars to victory
Quote:
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Dahntay Jones scored 28 points and J.R. Smith added 21 points and nine assists in leading the Baron Davis All-Stars to a 118-117 win over the Paul Pierce All-Stars in an NBA-sanctioned event Sunday.
The game was held to raise funds for the Baron Davis Foundation and the Paul Pierce Truth Foundation, which provide support for underprivileged inner city youth.

106 3PTA...what a disgrace.
Still, good game for Dahntay.

Re: Dahntay Jones leads the Baron Davis All-Stars to victory
Do you guys think that a trade involving Dahntay and Cardinal to NY for Q Rich is a good one for Memphis? He is more talented (at least for now) than Dahntay, and Cardinal won't get much minutes here....

He was reduced to nothing in New York with his back issues and a micromanaging head coach. Even when he's healthy, he was a good-rebounding chucker who shot terrible percentages.
Then again, it's not like Cardinal ever plays either, and Dahntay's probably as good as he's going to get (and up for an extension next year).

I undestand, and I really liked what you said, but what did you mean with? Q Rich is a better fit for this team than Cardinal and Dahntay or not?

Well, his back ailments were one thing. They were probably the biggest factor in his 35-percent FG% last season. But then again, his style of play clashes with the coaching style of a micromanagment, slow-it-down-offense guy like Larry Brown. Mike Fratello's offensive philosophies are closer to Larry Brown's than a coach like Mike D'Antoni, who basically encouraged Richardson to shoot whenever and wherever when he was with Phoenix.
I think Fratello would hate Richardson's chucking, and I haven't seen anything that indicates he's recovered from those back problems.
But like I said, it's not like Cardinal and Dahntay Jones are doing anything for us.
I guess I don't see a pressing need for the trade, but I wouldn't hate it if it happened either.

I really like your opinion, my opinion is close to your on this one... I'd agree with this move because instead of chucking, Q is definitely a better option as a backup shooting guard/perimeter shooter than Dahntay and maybe Fratello can help him (Let's not forget that Q really liked to play with Larry Brown)... But like you said, is not like an emergency one...
