Swift Deal?
Would Memphis be interested in a deal that involves D. Anderson a player who has potential and is consistent if not hurt and a steal with only 2.5 mill and M. Doleac who can be a back up C for Stomile...this deal would shed some salary for Memhis 5.4 mill and would give them some depth and someone who can help out Rudy and play some good minutes at the start of the season, and Stomile wasnt too happy about being dealt to Memphis and some of the fans dont like him much either
A possible deal withMiami gets Stromile Swift 5.4 mill 2 years with 3rd player option
and Memehis get D. Anderson 2.5 mill and M. Doleac 2.9 mill both for 1 year deals.....let me know what you think

Re: Swift Deal?
As a Grizzlies fan, I'd want more than just waiver-fodder expirings. Expiring deals are great, but guys who could actually help the team are more preferable.
Give us Dorrell, if you guys aren't going to use him.

You know that is a pretty big wish.

I believe it was Hoopsworld that said Swift would not report to Memphis. I don't ever put any faith in what they report.
I haven't heard anything directly from the Swift camp as of now. I guess we'll find out tomorrow, when they Battier/Gay trade officially goes through.

It is, but if we can't get anything more than Derek Anderson, who we might as well waive the second we send the trade to the league office, then I say just keep him until a) he can be packaged with some decent players to get someone else or b) wait until his contract is expiring and he'll have more value.
I'm fine with holding onto Swift until the right opportunity comes along. If in fact he doesn't want to come back to Memphis, then just dock him his daily salary ala Jimmy Jackson. Swift only plays ball because there's no other job where he can get paid $6M/year and still slack off as much as he wants - all he has to do is show up.

Re: Swift Deal?
No to the deal.
Regarding Stromile, if he is presented with an opportunity to play like I think he will be, then he will report. No squad is going to want a player who was given a starting job (Houston) and couldn't put forth enough effort to beat out Juwan Howard. When he gets his head on straight, he'll be alright. I think that he will be convinced that an uptempo Memphis squad is better than a lot of other places.

Re: Swift Deal?
Memphis should have shifted Swift with Roberson to Washington to get Etan Thomas (a so much needed big beef C)... But now that the trade already happens, they should try to convince Etan to waive his TK in order to get him for Swift straight up... Etan may do, because he can see more minutes in Memphis than he will earn in Washington... In Memphis he can even try to land a starting spot...
