Pau is such a freakin' monster on the international level. He's too athletic, he's too fast, his first step is too quick, he's too long, and he loves to dunk. With the utter lack of interior defense, there's really no way to stop him.
I also wish NBA Pau would just go immediately to the basket every time. He does that a little in the NBA, but he also will get the ball on the block and then try to fake the defender out so he can then penetrate and flush. If he made a move/decision more often/quicker, his points per game off baskets and free throws would steadily rise. He improved this last season, and he was able to increase both his points and assists just because he didn't give the defense time to react. He's especially good on the baseline.
I don't know if it's a coaching thing or what, but he doesn't need to be holding the ball much after he gets it.
Only a handful of guys can consistently keep up with Pau's first step. Rasheed Wallace and Kevin Garnett come to mind, but as you can see in the second clip, Garnett can get burned by it as well.
