What a tank job. There is so much talent on this team it's not even funny, but Damon Stoudamire, Dahantay Jones, and Eddie Jones all get to play significant minutes. I guess there are injuries.

I agree that this team...isn't trying to win all the time, but it isn't all that talented either. This "limited minutes" gimmick with Gasol the past eight games is our cover for soft-shoeing it. And it's pretty obvious. Like Pau Gasol can't go 30 minutes per game eight games after his return.

As far as assets go, there's a Top 5 power forward and three promising rookies. And really, Rudy Gay isn't showing as much promise as I expected, although Kyle Lowry and Alexander Johnson have been better than advertised.

And then there's the super-streaky, here-today-gone-tomorrow Mike Miller, who can't really be counted on for much, but when he gets rolling, he's a big help offensively.

Warrick's just ok, just like Dahntay Jones and Lawrence Roberts. Each of them is really only above-average at one aspect of the game (post scoring, perimeter defense, rebounding respectively) and pretty lousy/limited at everything else.

Everyone else currently associated with this team is overpaid, washed-up, untalented garbage. That includes the coach, and that includes the general manager.

Gasol and the rookies are the only things worth keeping on this team. Mike Miller is worthwhile because he blows up once every three games, but he's proven he isn't reliable or consistent. And is therefore tradeable.

I would have no problems with this season if Rudy Gay was getting consistent minutes and had a consistent role (hell a role) on the team. Hakim Warrick is perfect for a team lacking post scoring, especially if they have a strong PF/C to put next to him.

After 5 seasons of Jerry West, we have 4 keepers on our team. One was in his lap when he got here and the other three were drafted in June. WTF was he doing for 4 years besides collecting his $20+ million?

Memphis has the bad luck to be in the Western Conference, which is far far more competitive than the East. That is actually bad news for Memphis (a playoffs team the last two years).

wow, it doesn't get much posts here this season.
I am saying you need a rebuild here. Maybe trade away Pau for draft #10 draft picks. 2007 is really deep. And maybe start fresh again. This team now is really shaky management wise.

I've always hated this idea.

Pau Gasol is a Top 5 power forward and a Top 3 center. Who's in this draft that's going to that good at his position or as versatile? One guy?

And after that, you're trading Pau Gasol for a percentage chance at getting that guy. You 100 percent have Pau Gasol now, and his contract is more than reasonable.

He's the one that needs to stay. Just complement him.

He's the one that needs to stay. Just complement him.

I also don't see any sense in trading Gasol away. He is still 26 and has some upside. Even if he might not be the first to option in two or three years, he is an absolute keeper. There is no reason to rebuild without him.

Well, the only reason I said that because I heard Pau wants to be on a winning team.
