Gay scored 21 points (tied with Adam Morrison for the rookie-high so far), including a couple of key baskets down the stretch, grabbed eight boards and blocked four shots in the Grizzlies' triple-OT loss to the Knicks on Wednesday.
Lowry finished outside the top 10, but he got a mention as well.
By the end of the year, both will be top 10 guys. Really happy to see Craig Smith making an impression as well.

Don't listen too much to da Rocket fan. Rudy Gay is NOT a ballhawk, actually, he's too much of a team player coming out of college - that's common knowledge. Yet, coaches plus the Logo wants Rudy to be more selfish and finish more. When Gay becomes the #1 option in Memphis he'll step up his game and become an all-round-player with major scoring abilities. I'm not taking ANYTHING away from Gasol - he's such a stud - but I strongly believe Rudy Gay will be the # 1 scoring option in Memphis in, say, 2 years time. And that's thanks to a guy like Gasol. Rudy Gay is more promising than Melo because I believe Rudy can make teammates better - something Melo has trouble with. Still, Melo is a nice "big dog" type of player - just not a winner, like "big dog" wasn't either. Rudy is a winner. Just an opinion.

Exactly.
I don't pay much attention to people's player evaluations when it's so obvious they look at nothing but the NBA.com stat profile.
Rudy Gay is not a ballhog, but he should be, since everyone on this team over the age of 26 is scrap heap material.
Gays shooting really isn't comming along as nicely as I had hoped... but I still got loads of patience.
He's settling for outside shots too much and needs to take it to the goal. His shot's been really streaky so far. The ball looks great coming out of his hands, IMO, and some nights it drops through without touching the net. Other times, he can't get on the scoreboard.
But I'm not frustrated. Like you said, patience. It's been 10 games, and he's not exactly getting consistent playing time.
