Why don't the Grizzlies sit Gasol till the last month fo the season and play only the rookies in an attempt to get Oden. Even if Oden doesn't come out they could theoritically end up pairing Gasol with say Noah or Durant for the next 10 years. *drool*

I hope that's Fratello's plan, because with his substitution patterns lately, he's either trying to lose or trying to get fired.

With a top draft pick and Gay hopefully developing into fringe All-Star status the next couple years, Memphis will that 0-12 playoff record in the dust. Especially when guys like Duncan and Nash start declining. Fans are going to hate this season, and I don't like the pathetic play either, but it'll make the team stronger in the long run.

Rudy Gay and Warrick certainly are the future of this team. there are other players at the top of the draft besides Oden that look very very talented. a Top 5 pick would be huge.

Oden is not the only one in that draft... the top 5-10 looks pretty mean. But I could sure see Odens D mix right in with Gasols finnesse and Gays (and Warricks) length and athletism.

The '90s Mavs teams show that high draft picks aren't necessarily the ticket - chemistry, among other things can be an issue. Also, kids aren't as mature today as they were before the underclass floodgates opened.
