I think nobody has a clue right now what they are doing or in which direction they are headed. The best player on the team obviously doesn't want to play anymore for the Grizzlies, the coaching is been horrible, nothing has changed with Barone, nobody seems to have a role, nobody is getting consistent minutes. You can't build any team spirit or confidence without a structure.
I think the Grizz new a young coach who doesn't have much experience but a communicative character and most important a plan to turn things around and build a positive atmosphere. That might also help the rookies, especially Rudy Gay who looks lost right now but has all the potential in the world to become special, maybe very special. Everyone has a different character, count in the fact that he is a rookie and he might perform up to the expectations once there is a steady situation around him.
Is it just me or does Memphis seem like they're tanking on purpose
I just think there are exactly two players on the roster who a) know what to do on the court and b) have the physical tools to do it.
And one of those two players looks totally disinterested. And I don't blame him since I wouldn't want to have to carry this bunch of has-beens and scrubs management has surrounded him with either.
Screw that. Gasol hasn't played hard all season. No excuse for it at all. I am glad he will e gone at the deadline, so I can get over the delusion you can build a contender around Gasol. Time to cut the cord and let someone else pay for that contract.

I'm not sure if Memphis fans will ever know whether or not you can build a contender around Pau Gasol, since the front office has either refused or failed miserably at improving the roster for going on six years in a row. Six years in Memphis, and our best center is Lorenzen Wright. Our most-reliable point guard...anyone's guess...Jason Williams, Damon Stoudamire, Earl Watson... Our second-best player over six seasons...Mike Miller.
I'm as disappointed with Gasol's mood and general attitude as anyone, but management has brought this on themselves and their customers, and they should just be happy that this meltdown hasn't happened sooner and that they were able to actually get some extended playoff exposure out of keeping this mediocre "core" of "players" in tact.
Actually, I think our team has overachieved the last 3 years on the back of good coaching, hustle and hard work. There is no doubt that the GM has not done his job as I see it. However, there is still no denying Memphis can't build a contender around Gasol because he simply wants out but does not have the stones to say it directly. He is pulling a Vince Carter on us and I will not respect that because if he was truly this frustrated then say something and get dealt. Don't half *** it on the court while doing just enough on offense to keep your numbers respectable. It is deplorable.
If I had my way I would clear the decks and the only two players who would have locked up and locked in spots would be Kyle Lowry and Alexander Johnson. I am tired of watching teams get punked on the court. I want a physical, mentally tough talented team on the court and I am willing to wait on it. Our attendance is crap anyway, so the time is now. Nobody is coming to the games to watch a bunch of losers get punked on a nightly basis.

I wouldn't have said it better. Repped.
