3 way trade proposal

was messing around with this on lakers forum, what do you guys think? basically, what you guys get is a payroll of $31.7 million in 2008 (plenty of cash to sign a big name player) and 2 2008 first rounders.

INCOMING LAKERS: Pau Gasol ($13,709,375), Brian Cardinal ($5,850,000), and Damon Stoudamire ($4,350,000)
OUTGOING LAKERS: Lamar Odom ($13,524,000), Kwame Brown ($9,075,000) & 2008 1st rounder (hm, then again, if we're giving them a first rounder, they should keep one of those dead weights.. i say damon stoudamire... this part is still iffy with me).

Why? Lakers get a proven big man in the middle who can score. Pau isn't a great 1st option type of guy, but I think he'll do fine as a #2.

INCOMING GRIZZLIES: Kwame Brown ($9,075,000), Jason Williams ($8,937,500), Ricky Davis ($6,817,500), 1st round pick from lakers, 1st round pick from heat.
OUTGOING GRIZZLIES: Pau Gasol ($13,709,375), Brian Cardinal ($5,850,000), and Damon Stoudamire ($4,350,000)

Why? Grizzlies get ALL expiring contracts, giving them more than enough money to sign a free agent (should be about 20 million at least, haven't done the math yet), plus two 1st rounders in 2008.

INCOMING HEAT: Lamar Odom ($13,524,000)
OUTGOING HEAT: Jason Williams ($8,937,500), Ricky Davis ($6,817,500), 2008 1st rounder. Ricky was acquired almost 2 months ago, so he will be eligible for trade pretty soon... like 11 days from now soon.

Why? Because Lamar Odom > Jason Williams + Ricky Davis... easily. Only problem is that Miami wouldn't have a PG.

OR this.. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...7~29&te=&cash=

memphis gets two 1st rounders..

Re: 3 way trade proposal

I would do the trade if I didn't think the team still had a chance of being good with Gasol on it. Those picks probably wouldn't be lottery picks which we would most definitely need in return.

Keep in mind that those picks will probably be in the 15-19 range but youll also have your picks as well which will probably be lottery.

You don't think Miami will be a lottery team this season? I would give anything for this trade to come through.

Re: 3 way trade proposal

Well, it's extremely possible, but I believe they'll at least get a lower seed in the playoffs.

Re: 3 way trade proposal

Wait, so Miami give up a 1st, Ricky Davis and Jason Williams for Lamar Odom?

Hell, I don't see that putting them into the conference finals - if they're gonna do any trades until Shaq retires, it should be for picks and young talent.
I don't think they'll trade Shaq before then, but there's no point gambling 'the future' (I know, J-Will, Davis and one 1st rounder isn't exactly 'the future', but moreso than Odom is!) for a pathetic playoff run..

For Memphis, you'd have to be able to guarantee that the picks are gonna be at least mid-lottery. The cap-space is tempting, but when the rest of the team consists of players on rookie deals, you need some space left over. Three first rounders in 2008 IS tempting (for anyone, I'd say), but perhaps Pau + one first rounder is just as good. Give it at least another year, then start thinking about getting rid of him - I doubt Pau's gonna drastically deteriorate by then..

How well is the Knicks Starters vs NBA Team Starters? 60%? 50%? 40%? or are we waiting to see by being optimistic because we have a new additional player in the Starting lineup that we assume Stat sheet record says he is better with this Knick roster than the guy he is replacing?

Re: 3 way trade proposal

If Pau is going, Bynum has to be coming back.

The picks I could care less about, if they're coming from Miami and LA.
