was messing around with this on lakers forum, what do you guys think? basically, what you guys get is a payroll of $31.7 million in 2008 (plenty of cash to sign a big name player) and 2 2008 first rounders.
INCOMING LAKERS: Pau Gasol ($13,709,375), Brian Cardinal ($5,850,000), and Damon Stoudamire ($4,350,000)
OUTGOING LAKERS: Lamar Odom ($13,524,000), Kwame Brown ($9,075,000) & 2008 1st rounder (hm, then again, if we're giving them a first rounder, they should keep one of those dead weights.. i say damon stoudamire... this part is still iffy with me).
Why? Lakers get a proven big man in the middle who can score. Pau isn't a great 1st option type of guy, but I think he'll do fine as a #2.
INCOMING GRIZZLIES: Kwame Brown ($9,075,000), Jason Williams ($8,937,500), Ricky Davis ($6,817,500), 1st round pick from lakers, 1st round pick from heat.
OUTGOING GRIZZLIES: Pau Gasol ($13,709,375), Brian Cardinal ($5,850,000), and Damon Stoudamire ($4,350,000)
Why? Grizzlies get ALL expiring contracts, giving them more than enough money to sign a free agent (should be about 20 million at least, haven't done the math yet), plus two 1st rounders in 2008.
INCOMING HEAT: Lamar Odom ($13,524,000)
OUTGOING HEAT: Jason Williams ($8,937,500), Ricky Davis ($6,817,500), 2008 1st rounder. Ricky was acquired almost 2 months ago, so he will be eligible for trade pretty soon... like 11 days from now soon.
Why? Because Lamar Odom > Jason Williams + Ricky Davis... easily. Only problem is that Miami wouldn't have a PG.
