Trade A? Trade B? Or nay...
So here are some trade ideas I came up with. Both are between Memphis and Los Angeles. I'm gonna post this on both forums so we get opinions from both sides of the fence. Here they are:
Trade A: Kwame Brown, Luke Walton, and Javaris Critt for Pau Gasol
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...9~13&te=&cash=
Trade B: Lamar Odom, and Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol Darco Milicic, and Brian Cardinal
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...3~13&te=&cash=
So the idea in both trades is the Lakers get a PF that can handle being a #2 option while Memphis clears a lot of cap space to start fresh right before a big FA offseason. Also, Lamar Odom could flourish in a system that doesn't have Kobe in it. He has always been good when he knew Kobe wouldnt be playing for whatever reason. On a side note, I think it would be funny for the Lakers to trade one draft bust for another draft bust(i know he has been playing better) as proposed in trade B.
Thoughts?

Re: Trade A? Trade B? Or nay...
I think Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol, Damon Stoudamire and Brian Cardinal is the fairest trade...why would Memphis want to dump Milicic like garbage already? They wouldn't. Their management has to want to get rid of Stoudamire and Cardinal.
The Lakers would then buy-out Stoudamire and he could sign with whichever team he chose to.

The first trade is horrible on a level beyond human understanding.
The second is just plain ol' regular bad.
I don't see Memphis giving up on Darko this early. Bynum is the only thing I care about on the Lakers. Kwame's expiring contract is fairly meaningless unless it's packaged with young talent that makes sense for us to acquire (Bynum being the only one to fit that criteria...we don't need Javaris).

Re: Trade A? Trade B? Or nay...
That first trade makes Memphis a lot worse. They give up an all star and get back nothing that helps them.In the second trade Pau is substantially better than Odom and Darko is better than Kwame...So this only makes sense if you're a Lakers fan.I can see Memphis moving Gasol and Stoudamire....but what they will want are players who are effective in an uptempo system, draft picks or young players with upside.I don't see anything with the Lakers working...Not unless they want to give up something for Stoudamire by himself.

The way Odom has been playing this season his trade value might be at the lowest point possible.
