When we traded for him, I knew he was overpaid, but I thought he was a lot better than this. A lot better.
There are a bunch of fringe NBA scrubs just barely hanging on in the league or complete "projects" (read: stiffs) like Hamed Haddadi. But Jaric, for my money, is the worst veteran in the NBA. Less than two points per game on 26 percent shooting, and he has an assist-to-turnover ratio of just 1.6 in 10 minutes per game. Just brutal. Is there any veteran that even approaches that level of badness? I thought about Mikki Moore, I thought about Ricky Davis, but they're both just flat out better this year.
There was a sequence last night where in two possessions, Jaric committed two turnovers and then just lost Sasha Vujacic to give up an easy layup. Ridiculous.
He's just horrifyingly bad, and what's more horrifying is that Lionel Hollins came out and said this week than O.J. Mayo at point guard "was not an option." That's not even on the table.
Well, can you blame Hollins? I mean if you move Mayo to the point you're negating some of your offensive strengths, because you can't put someone next to him who can fill it up. I know Grizz fans think they need another big, but I think they need more wing talent. A starting SG [moves Mayo to the point] and Conley off the bench would be fine because he could play point off the bench. Then another wing that can play the 2/3 off the bench.
I would be looking towards someone like Evan Turner [Ohio State] or James Anderson [Oklahoma St.] with the 2nd first round pick. Obviously the first pick depends on where the Grizz select. Two 6'6 SG's.

I don't know what's happening with him. He never was a good player, but he wasn't THIS TERRIBLE...!
If it was to use him as the primary Conley backup, it would've been better if Grizzlies traded him for Tinsley, who at least is a true PG and is more talented (despite his off-court troubles), and his contract is basically the same.
