Memphis Grizzlies-FCBarcelona
hi all, next friday memphis is playing against barcelona in spain. who do you think will win? i think memphis will have to play hard to win this game because barcelona has very talented players (Bodiroga,Navarro,Varejao) and the previous year won the three titles they played (Euroleague,Spanish League and Copa de Rey), otherwise, an NBA team is an NBA team and should win....what do you think?who will win and why?

Memphis is going to win by at least 10 to this F.C. team. The Griz are just to good for them.

rawse's Translation
I see you're Spanish like me, so that (something, something) the life. (la vida = the life). Go to the NBA General Forum, where there's already a discussion on the matter. The last time I viewed it, it was on the second page of discussion.
By the way, as Memphis takes it seriously (and Pau is going to want that they take it seriously), then they are going to have him (something, something) in mercy (piedad = mercy).
That's just a rough translation. I only know so much Spanish.
...barça ?

Good translation, I will feel the "somethings" for you.
I see you're Spanish like me, so why should I complicate my life (talking in english instead of spanish). Go to the NBA General Forum, where there's already a discussion on the matter. The last time I viewed it, it was on the second page of discussion. (perfect)
If Memphis takes it seriously (and Pau is going to want that they take it seriously), then they are going to pass over Barça (nickname for Barcelona) without any mercy.
Or at least something like that...

OK
When I write in Spanish I don't want to be rude. If someone doesn't like it I want to apologize (I think is that word), but I was trying to redirect an spanish guy to the same thread that He was starting.
For Rawse and JGKoblenz, your spanis is great. I don't know that so many people learn spanish there in the US. I'm thinkin in posting only in my mother language. :-))

Well, I'm not American, I'm Brazilian and you probably know that portuguese is a bit similar to spanish and I had spanish classes at school too.
Sometimes I have a hard time to post in Englush too.
Back to the topic, here is some NBA.com articles Q&A With ESPN's Chad Ford.

Hey, thanks for filling in the blanks. I was just challenging my brain to remember what I could. I'm as WASP (German-Irish ancestry...mainly German) as they come, but I do know a little Spanish, and I'll likely be learning it again since I switched my major over recently.
Piri -- I didn't take it as rude. If I were truly bilingual, I'd speak the language I'd learned first if given the opportunity. Like I'm doing right now.

I can't speak for everyone else here, but I had a few semesters of Spanish in high school. Sad to say that I was never exactly fluent in the language, but I can still recognize some things and still have my Spanish-English Dictionary.
To get back on the topic,
The Grizzlies vs FC Barcelona will be televised at 2:00 pm Central on NBA TV Friday.
I'm a bit worried that Hubie is going to take this as just a normal preseason game. I know the players will be taking it very seriously, as many have already said they want to win it for Pau. But of course, Hubie is more interested in giving all 16 guys playing time and seeing how well each group works together (and which player gets cut), which is completely understandable and exactly what the preseason is for. I just want to see the Grizzlies win this one for Pau.

I totally agree with you. IMO winning this game could be more important to Pau that the contract extension or a great contract at the end of this.
It's like proving all of us (Spanish people) that He has gone to a better team. I've seen this morning in a sports news paper Pau saying "I need to wint this game to prove myself that I'm in a better team" I'm not sure if he said better or winner.

Is the game being played by NBA rules or FIBA rules? This is big issue toward who wins.
