ESPN Power Rankings (12/22)

7 (9) Grizzlies 15-11

Honestly, I don't know how the computer allowed the Grizz up here. Hubie, meanwhile, gets points for honesty, but I'm not so sure it's smart to say publicly that a team is playing 10 guys instead of eight to build up everyone's trade value.

seems a bit high now that we just lost to denver. lol, I say 9 was about right.. 7?? I'm a grizz fan, and I agree we've come a long way, but 7th in the league.. hmmmmm.. I guess they're making up to us for underrating us in the past

Is that just a pun or did Brown really say that? I have often felt that is what West was trying to accomplish, untill I read Hubie Brown's book, "Hubie Brown on Basketball". He's been using that ten man rotation since he coached the Kentucky Colonels with Artis Gilmore and Dan Issel.

I think it was basically taken out of context. Hubie said something about playing ten guys better enabled a team to make a 2 for 1 trade. I've never heard him say that he was actually using ten instead of eight to increase trade value. You're right, he has always used the ten-man rotations. It just pains Stein to write anything positive about the Grizzlies.
