Summer dreaming
I have heard the Grizzlies mention almost every player in the league that fits the 4 things they plan on bringing in this summer: individual scoring, defensive toughness, defensive rebounding, and size.
Players whose name I have heard mentioned : Elton Brand, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant, Corey Maggette, Kwame Brown, Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Kenyon Martin, Eric Dampier, Mark Blount, Jerry Stackhouse, Caron Butler, Eric Snow, Zydrunas Illgauskas, Shawn Marion, Antoine Walker, and Al Jefferson .

You know there's a lot of talk into bringing in an FA but not alot of talk into drafting a talented big man.
Memphis is just rapidly becoming my second favorite team, given that let me propose that it might just be a good idea to trade one of those great PF guys to Utah for a nice 1st round pick, or Maybe you trade to Seattle, I know they'd love stro there.
The point is there are two guys in this draft who in my opinion could really really help Memphis.
First
Kosta Perovic.
Check him out, I've been high on him for a while but to be honest haven't extensively analyzed him.
Here is what I do know.
Defensive minded.
Good footwork for a young kid, very good.
Used to not being the star and playing off of teammates, passes out of the post well and my god did it seem like this kid had defense on the brain.. important stuff when you're going to be playing with Pau gasol and Jwill..
Secondly, of course is Rafael Arajuo.
The seconf coming of Kevlin Cato, a guy who is big physical mean, lives in the paint and welcomes physicality.
Either one of these guys could go a long way in helping memphis more so than Dampier in terms of solving your big man woes.
This would lead good oppurtunity to use your big men or trade commodities
to net a nice young Point guard or shooting guard.
Oh, and Keep stro, if you can, let him come off the bench and bring the stro show.

Also, stay far away from Chandler and Martin.
They will suck the life out of your franchise.
Chandler much less so than martin, of course. Not that he has a bad attitude, he just has horrible conditioning and limited knowledge of B-ball.

These are the easiest things to change and teach.

Are these just names to put out there or is there a realistic chance of getting anyone of the players.

I thought of Perovic too, he could help the Grizzlies, but I doubt that West will trade for a draft pick..

I would be willing to bet that the Grizzlies get a 1st round pick this year.

I read earlier in the season that Jerry West is really high on him.

Only if you're willing to learn. Fourth year in the NBA, no great change.
