It would be a huge disappointment for the USA to lose this game. It's certainly not impossible that we lose, but it's within our complete control. If we play good defense we're going to win.It would take a huge effort by the Agentines to really compete against us.I just don't think they can do it unless we really help them by playing poorly on defense and failing to really pressure their guards.
I put all my money on team USA, they have all the ingredients, 2004 Athens was a nightmare, but i don't think it will happen again. Argentine will probably play like in athens, but they are facing new dream team in beijing. Good luck for usa
i have to add some more words here because i am very excited and i can't wait to watch usa vs argentine live, so everybody here, don't forget to catch it live, dunk and dunk and dunk
I think it'll be just like this past game vs Australia. It'll be close for a while but then we'll wear them down and win going away.
Ginobili looked drained after today's game vs Greece and Nocioni was injured although came back in the game later on. Hopefully they're both ready to go for Friday.
Argentina is not as deep as in athens. They lost both of their PG's I believe since then(retirement I believe), and they are playing with a 7 man roster. I'd expect a close quarter and a half and then the US depth will probably wear down the Argentina big men. Unless Team USA just has a complete brain fart as far as perimeter defense goes, this one should be a route also and should set up a rematch with Spain(who I believe will beat Lithuania).
Last WC's, Wade and Lebron just caused havoc. I just don't see Argentina being able to guard all the perimeter players the US will throw out there. Just have to watch the glass as guys like Scola and Nocioni will scramble for loose balls: keep the rebounding close and this game will be a blowout. It's will be interesting to see who the US throws out there against Ginobili. I'd really try to wear him out by throwing either Kobe or Lebron on him on defense every possession

There is a tension, peculiar to basketball, between the interests of the team and the interests of the individual. The game continually tempts the people who play it to do things that are not in the interest of the group.

Its all about depth. They can and will probably keep with us until the end of the 2nd quarter. After that I think we will win be 25+.
We do better verses the better teams in the tourny because we usually play to the level of our competition. I see them gettin' up for this like Greece and Spain earlier.
I cannot wait to watch this though.
