As far as the bolded part, who the **** is the US? Kobra Kai? Actually no edit, the Olympics are a celebration of sport. The best of the best are supposed to compete for medals...... with class. You may as well start playing "Americaaaaa **** YEA!" during medal ceremonies. There's winning with class, and there's winning like a dick head. America won like a ****ing dick head. You can't argue against that, and will look even more of an idiot if you try. And no, you aren't half Canadian. I don't allow it.

So you're saying that the US should have let Nigeria back in the game? That we should have started bouncing passes off each other and shooting at the wrong basket? You realize you're criticizing an Olympic basketball team for taking an Olympic game seriously, right? Hence, "maybe they pushed it too far". Reading comprehension is key bud. But this isn't the atrocity that people are trying to make it out to be. I don't see people getting up in arms about other countries dominating in a specific sport. And I am half Canadian. I was in Nova Scotia a few months ago and I had a great time.

Maybe they didn't need to rush down the court, and pop up a 3 as quick as they could on defenders that can't even attempt to defend them. I'm not asking them to move out of the way on defense and let the other team score. I'm not asking them to miss shots. But there's such a thing as winning with some class and not making a joke out of the other team. I didn't catch the game, but I can only imagine it was Chris Bosh dino rawr's, laughing and high 5's, with guys on the bench cheer leading as they made a joke out of the other team. That's not class. That's not sportsmanship. It wasn't a hard fought NBA Final. It was a blood bath with a completely inferior team. If anyone is wondering, this is a Chris Bosh Rawr ![]() With a caption of something like "Take that Olumide Oyedeji! Right in your face!" And yes, I understand Bosh isn't there. Its just the first dick head celebration that came to mind. The point is, I'm fairly confident the American's managed to do this with 0 class. Which is kind of the point.

Why are you upset about something when you don't even know if you're correct or not? That doesn't make any sense.
And before you google some pictures of LeBron smiling or whatever, show me an example of an Olympic game where the winning team didn't celebrate.

Re: Men's Bball Day 3 Thurs Aug 2nd
What is there to debate about? You think that the mean bully Americans should have taken it easier on the poor Nigerians. I think that intentionally playing worse to make an opponent feel better about losing is dumb. It's a matter of opinion, which you're entitled to, but you're the one coming in on a high horse telling everyone what an asshole they are for not thinking like you, not me.

You don't value class. That much is plain and simple. You can try whatever semantics you'd like, but it doesn't change what you've made clear. Beating the shit out of a team with Ike Diogu as their far and away best player isn't impressive. And it would have looked far better for the Americans to show some class and not rush every possession to run up the score like they did. And I like how you went from trying to call me out to now pulling a "They celebrated, so what?" There's celebrating, and then there's "AMERICAAAA **** YEA! WOOOOO!!! WE'RE THE GREATEST! ****ING BROKE THE SCORING RECORD BITCHES!" And its funny, because I didn't even need to watch to know that happened. They sat back and celebrated like they were in an Allstar game. Laughing and hot dogging as the curb stomped an inferior team.

Re: Men's Bball Day 3 Thurs Aug 2nd
You do realize that the USA scored the same number of points in the second half as they did in the first half right? Leading 119-72 going into the fourth quarter, they scored another 37 points. That's running up the score. Hell, they took 24 3's making 15 of them. On what planet is that gamesmanship?

Re: Men's Bball Day 3 Thurs Aug 2nd
Ps. The United States didn't shoot slower than 16 seconds on any possession in the second half

Re: Men's Bball Day 3 Thurs Aug 2nd
I want the negatives to say what they would have the Americans do in the second half instead. If you dont play one complete half of all out basketball you are doing yourself an injustice.
Which brings up a great point. Is anyone considering the US side of this. Since basketball is a team sport at which point does the team aspect interfere with the individual aspect of the game. Does Carmelo Anthony not have as much right to be written into the record books as an individual tennis player? A tennis player who is at no time asked to let up on his opponent, but to finish his opponent off lest we have another four and a half hour match? It's like some of you guys are fricken ambassadors or something. Its a once in a lifetime experience and you want us to roll out the JV squad! Quote:

Re: Men's Bball Day 3 Thurs Aug 2nd
Our starters were not happy with the way they played against Tunisia. There's no doubt that Coach K lit into them about the way that they played in that game. Then Nigeria is forced to play a style which is extremely unwise against a team with a huge talent differential. I would rather not play teams like that, but this is how the Olympics work.
It does not matter what we do to the people who are inclined to make a big deal out of this. If we had started throwing the ball out of bounds in the 4th quarter the exact same people would be in here saying that we were destroying the integrity of the game. Since they can not be pleased they do not matter.

Awesome. You guys destroyed nobodies. That's amazing. And you laugh and high five and celebrate while you're doing it like a bunch of jackasses. I should go to the playground and punch a 5 year old in the face then start screaming "What!!! What?!?!" Its pathetic. And its all summed up in your "no mercy!" BS comment. Go read up on why the olympics were formed. I'm sure you'll see the word sportsmanship quite a few times.
