Actually, it would be 23-6, 14-4. What's wrong with being optimistic?
Tony stated that those are very high goals and probably would take a lot to go right. Personally, I have Siena at 19-10, 12-6 in the league although I haven't gone through the schedule yet. The MAAC isn't going to be that strong either.
This team should be very very good even good enough to challenge Marist. Yeah, a lot has to work out. Haddix has to stay healthy as does Hasbrouck. But if those guys play like we think they will, Fisher and Ryan provide solid play, and the freshman are solid, not awesome, but solid, Siena can contend will most teams if not all on their schedule.
We can win any game on the schedule and lose any game too if we look past anybody.

You will split with NJIT. Write it down. They have to, you are the kiss of death.

That was a very optimistic prediction. And Siena will need a lot to go right for them to reach that goal. I predicted one upset.. and didn’t predict Siena getting upset, which is not to realistic, I’m sure the Saints will get upset somewhere along the line. So 23 wins will be tough but Siena should get 20 no problem. ( as long as we stay healthy) As you yourself said Guy the MAAC is not that strong and I expect the Saints to get 12 to 14 league wins alone. Having seen the team ( which is something most of you guys have not done) two of the saints question marks will be fine IMHO. Haddix is moving as good as ever and although he will never be a jumping jack Haddix is jumping better than anytime in his career and Kenny is adjusting quite well to play at the point. And Ubiles is gonna be a playa in this league.
Still bitter I jinxed the Mets? You need help if you believe that.
Dude, every single prediction you have made has been 100% wrong. Every DS series, CS series, and the cards are up 2-1. Plus your a raiders fan. Need i say more.

Got rained out in WS last night. So , I had time to wax philosophical, and further reflect on the fact that Sienna did not even get a whiff in the Daily News. How could a 23 - 9 Macc team not get a whiff in an article about the MAAC prognosis. It's been a long time - but, I seem to recall a philosophical hypothesis (Phenomenologist School, I believe?). "If a tree falls in the woods and no one ses it, did it really happen?" How does that relate to the MAAC? If 8,000 hayseeds (including Toni, MTS, Siennafan, etc.) go to a hoops game at the PEPSI? You get the picture!
GO Cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I don't have a MAJOR problem with this. The 12-6 is fair; you won't do better than that. 19-10 is a bit much even against your schedule. I think you'll win around 16 or 17.

Guy, do you honestly believe Siena is only going to improve 1 or 2 games from last season? I think you base your prediction on what the Saints lost from last year personnel-wise, but I think you fail to see what they have acquired. Every publication in the land has picked Siena 2nd or 3rd in the MAAC. So if the league's likely 2nd or 3rd place team is going to finish barely above .500, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the league.
They could do better than 12-6 in the league, I think I was being conservative. Depends on other MAAC teams and how they play. Iona, Manhattan, and Canisius are those three wildcard teams that could be very good or could really struggle.
As far as OOC goes, NJIT should be two wins, Dartmouth, and Tennessee St should be wins. Siena will be favored over Albany and Holy Cross. Buffalo on the road could be very tough I don't know what kind of a team they have coming back but I don't believe they're pick high in their conference which is a very good one.
I'd love to see Siena steal one against Maryland, Stanford, or Hofstra but it will be tough but not impossible either.

For Siena, I'd give them 2nd, no problem at all. Although some are picking Niagara, I'm not to sure about them being #2. IMO, Siena will win 12 MAAC games and 5 OOC games...BUT COULD WIN MORE. This is as optimistic as it gets!
OOC Wins:
NJIT (2)
Dartmouth
Buffalo
Tenn State
COULD GO EITHER WAY:
UAlbany (It has to be a leaner, UAlbany isn't that bad at all...but it IS at the Pepsi.)
Hofstra (Usually I'd say Hofstra in a heartbeat, but the Alaska trip might get to them just enough.)
Holy Cross (The Crusaders are no push over's just because they are second to Bucknell. Simmons and Thomas can give any team problems.)
So I say 20 wins isn't out of range, with those 5 wins pretty much a lock (hopefully). 12-6 MAAC, 18 wins overall (not counting the bracketbuster, which COULD be a win and push the win total over 20 if Siena pulls 2 of 3 from the could go either way list.) 20+ could also be reached if they win games in the MAAC tournament.
