Well, one can't ignore the effect Kojo had on Siena's success last year. You're not going to hear "I'd rather have so-and-so over Kojo or Jack because so-and-so brings more to the table" out of me. That's luancy. I don't know what went on with Kojo last year, but it certainly didn't seem the coaching staff was current with what was going on with him. From what I heard from a Northeastern guy, was that McCaffery learned what was going on after a player on some other team (St. Francis-NY??? - I think) told one of his assistants that Kojo was leaving - which got back to McC, who then confronted Kojo. Either Kojo is a good actor or no one picked up on his unhappiness at Siena; it is entirely possible the Siena staff knew Kojo was going to leave and they couldn't do anything about throughout last year.
I think there is a big difference between Kojo and Haddix/Jack. From everything I've read, Haddix and Jack come from great familes - the parents are involved and they play a big role in their kids' lives. I never recall seeing anything in print about Kojo's parents being involved in his life - only Ostrin.
Jack has said nothing but good things about his time at Siena. He saw an opportunity to take his game to another level - selfish, maybe - but I can't kill him due to the circumstances. His mind was made up, but that didn't keep him from driving back to Loudonville from Baltimore to meet with Fran on a couple of occasions. Fran even had high praise for the way Jack went about the process.
The Kojo situation is much different than Jack's. Though it would be fun to see what Fran's system would produce with a lineup of Kojo, Jack, Ubiles, Franklin and Haddix.
Is it against regulations to do that? Can a parent send a tape out, say "My kid is looking to transfer, here is some film."? Certainly the player under a LoI/scholarship can't.
Not sure if it's against the rules or not. I guess using your definition, which makes sense, it's not. However, if you're dumb enough to put your return address and contact information on a tape/letter to another school, someone from that school might have contacted Siena.
Maybe it's just me, but you have to be smart enough to use intermediaries and "cutouts". I'm not bragging, and these techniques may sound a bit tacky given what I do right now, but I'm very good at this -- you don't leave fingerprints.
Kenny is a fine player. Siena is lucky to have him. An absolute gem by Fran - one of the best recruiting finds in Siena history. He benefitted greatly from Kojo and Antoine last year. However, he was exposed against Hofstra last year - he was two steps slower than them and was outclassed; which was previously tipped off by his effort running the point at Fairfield last year. He's not going to be the point guard for any 20 win teams. All of his points last night came in transition. He setup Haddix nicely last night on several occasions - but I will argue that Kenny should be able to hold his own at the 1, the 2, or the 3 against a Dartmouth. Kenny is a good shooting guard in the MAAC.

Why do I have a feeling you know where Natalie Holloway is.
