Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
Just a thread for you to make some trade's, even if they havent been talked about in real life, get your idea out there and see what people think of it.
My Trade Idea:
Heat 2008 1st Round Pick (Guaranteed top 4)
for
Why this works for the Heat:
Obvious isnt it? We pair Wade with another young star in Anthony - yes we would lose our top pick and an All-Star - but Wade would have his reliable second option and could help keep Carmelo inline. The Heat would be back in the playoffs and could bring an element of small ball (Wade, Wright, Anthony) that would be very nice to watch. Hunter is mainly included for salary reasons, but he could be a reasonable 15 minutes guy IF healthy. Think a poor man's Sam Dalembert. Debatable whether they would be any better than the current Nuggets lineup though. Lineup would be:
PG - Jason Williams (20)/ Chris Quinn (15)/ Daequan Cook (13)
SG - Dwyane Wade (38)/Daequan Cook (10)
SF - Carmelo Anthony (37)/Dorell Wright (11)
PF - Udonis Haslem (34)/Dorell Wright (14)
C - Mark Blount (20)/Zo (18)/ Hunter (10)
Why do the Nuggets do this?:
Very debatable that they would, however thats the whole point of this thread. Its feasible, they may look at blowing that team up - I cant see them being a major player in the Western Conference as they are currently and perhaps a change is in order. I did read they will be listening to offers for Carmelo, doesnt mean they will trade him, but if the price is right...Debatable if they would be THAT much worse off at all - Marion would add a reliable defensive stopper and still keep with their uptempo offense. Can he score 30 a night? No, but he could help them win more games - plus be a bargaining chip for a midseason trade opportunity. They would get the potential first pick in the draft also, which give the Nuggets Beasley or Rose. If they did this trade, their lineup would be:
PG - Derrick Rose (?)/ Anthony Carter
SG - Allen Iverson/JR Smith
SF - Shawn Marion/Linas Kleiza
PF - Kenyon Martin/Nene
C - Marcus Camby/Nene
Just interested to hear people's thoughts and other potential trade ideas we COULD explore this offseason. Let em rip.

Re: Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
Let me start by saying that the thought of Melo in a Heat uni makes me want to barf and lap it up off the floor! On top of being a DUI waiting to happen hes also moody, selfish and a chucker that refuses to play D! To seal the deal hes made it his personal mission to prove to the rest of the world that hes superior to Bron and Wade.
With a top 4 pick (Beasley, Rose, Mayo or Bayless) on lock I dont see us trading for a veteran. The easiest way to win in this league is to have an established super-star as your #1 option, and a stud rookie (who your paying very little money) as the sidekick. Why trade for a vet when we could draft a rook with just as much upside (probably more) and not kill our cap in the process?

Melo is 23. Is he a veteran? yes, but he's the same age as Dorell Wright. Melo's issues aside, if you didnt want a guy capable of 25-30 points per game your mad.
Personally id do that trade. The thought of teaming Wade (26) and Carmelo (23) - 2 established All-Stars...id do it.

Remember Kwame Brown?? He was a first overall pick and was suppose to be the real deal. The draft= anything but guaranteed..

The top 4 prospects in this draft have the talent/upside to be just as good as Melo, and for a qtr of the price!

If he couldnt make it work with AI how is he going to make it work with a player that hes jealous of?

Quit making it sound like Kwame, Chandler and Curry werent thought of as huge projects coming out of high school! On the other hand we just witnessed Beasley destroying the entire college ranks like never before!
Big difference...

Re: Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
All I'm saying is that Melos the real deal, and we dk if those guys are. I do def agree with you that beasley has more upside then Melo. But for some possibly crazy reason I'm just afraid of Beasley turning out as a bust, and I'm not saying that I think he will but I'm just afraid of it...and who's to say we get beasley anywho

Re: Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
Marion and a #1 draft pick should be enticing for Nugs. I just can't see them throwing their future away like that.
Melo and Wade would be a great core to work with but we need a PG and a C. JWill won't be back IMO.
Still...
Wade/Melo/Haslem is a good trio. Add a decent PG and a mediocre C and we're good.

Re: Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
If it's the 3rd or 4th pick I'd do that trade. Otherwise I'd pass. I've seen that trade proposed elsewhere, except we get Camby instead of Hunter.

Then again, Barron has made 30 so popular so you might be right

Re: Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
Well, obviously id take Camby over Hunter...I just dont think the Nuggets would pass of their top scorer and franchise guy as well as their Defensive big for Marion and a top pick. Hence why Hunter was included.
And cmon about the Ballscientist thing! This trade makes sense to me. Agreed also if its 3rd or 4th pick Flash.
Heatlunatics hate aside, you cant deny that Melo is a great talent. Not just that, but hes a proven NBA star. The draft guarantees nothing but hope - Melo is 23, has room to improve, but is already one of the best Small Forwards in the game. You think Wade and Melo couldnt mesh? Wade is a more willing passer than Iverson, and Melo is capable of going off on any given night.
Personally i think itd be fun to watch. Pure speculation and in no way is this fact, im just making up a trade idea and seeing what you guys think. I believe its a reasonable trade for both teams.

Re: Offseason Wild Trade Idea Thread
Like someone said, I would consider this if we got the 3rd of fourth pick. I'd keep the first and second without doubt.
