I definitely thought that we'd see more of the Boston Ray as in, running him through screens like he did in Boston. I've been surprised at how little of it we've seen.

Yup, the only thing that's unsettling about the bench for me is the C situation. UD will struggle against his matchup on certain nights, so we need to incorporate a Joel or Josh and get them in rhythm for nights we'll need them.

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
I think either or both of these things may've been mentioned already, but just in case they haven't, thought I'd make sure:
1) According to @tomhaberstroh Jesus and the King are the no. 1 offensive tandem in the league..."and its not even close." He was just on with Dan Le Batard, which reminded me. I believe he said it was 1.27 points per possession. 2) LeBron has been either within 2 assists or 2 rebounds of a triple-double 75 times in his career. That's insane. |

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
OT: Just looked at Utah's salary situation. They're set to overpay the hell out of some free agents this summer. They're essentially trying our cap-clearing method, it looks like, with only Favors, Kanter, Burks, Hayward, and Evans on the books next season. What big free agent is going to agree to play in Utah, just to join that core? It's not bad, just not incredibly enticing. Seems silly. If I were them I'd look to trade a few of those expirings for good players on longer deals. As far as that core, looks like they're mainly missing a point. Do they really think they can get Chris Paul there?
Would love if we could somehow sign-and-trade for Millsap, but that's not at all realistic. |

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
I think Boston was too focused on Miami this summer. Slow start to the season for them. They're 2-3 with 2 wins coming down the stretch against the winless Wizards.

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
Yeah I'm sure that first game was demoralizing to them after they pumped themselves up for so long. I thought their injection of youth (Lee, Green, and Sullinger) would help them out to start the season, but they're still starting off like an old team. They pretty much busted their load trying to beat us, and now they're trying to recover and realize there are 28 other teams.

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
The odd thing about Boston is their major players have put up pretty impressive stats in the box scores I've seen. Probably not a great sign for them.

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
Turns out Ray has missed at least one left-corner 3 this regular season. Just saw it in the Denver replay on NBATV. Was a tough one, though, didn't really have his feet set and was off-balanced.

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
Here's an actual video of the new player intro, since the other one posted was from someone's seat. Couldn't even tell it was a remix of Seven Nation Army in the other one. Some cool cinematography, but kinda cheesy overall. Hold up, found this with the original version of the song. Pretty sure that's the actual version. Either way, not sure the song really fits. Wonder what LeBron will choose to replace it.

Only a matter of time. Watching this GSW/Nuggets ending. Golden State games are always fun to watch. Seem to always be the last game to finish every night and the games are almost always close. Also, watching the live look-ins on NBA tv, it is so apparent how much better games look when they're comcast network games instead of a Fox sports/Sun sports game. Better picture and much better audio.

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
Yeah, that DEN-GSW game was fun. Surprised Thompson missed both those FT's, but he made it up with the 3. Really looked like the W's had the win a couple of times. They might be pretty good when Bogut comes back, but I doubt they make the playoffs.
And yeah, FSN is so crappy. Really wish Heat games were broadcasted by NBC. A little more early season fun with numbers: Currently leading the league in FG% and PPG ![]() As well as offensive rating and effective field goal percentage (accounts for 3's being worth 1.5 times as much as 2's) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Even without signature scoring games or quite getting a triple double so far, LeBron is just behind his CLE replacement in PER, who has been pretty great himself so far. Ray is the only non-big in the top 5 in eFG% and true shooting % (same as eFG%, but with FT's factored in as well), the latter of which he's #1 in. He's also leading the league in offensive rating, despite not being a major assist guy. |

Re: '12 All things Heat thread
Before I post this, I'll start by saying I am in no way on the trade Wade wagon, I love Wade and everything he's done for this franchise.
However, do you think the fact that Wade is such good friends with Bron/Bosh is going to hurt us in the long run? Dwyane is 30, LeBron 27, Bosh 28. Dwyane's the one who seems to have lost a bit of what he used to have. I think Jace said it in a thread, Wade is far too proud to change his game and settle for a lesser role. And I just can't see with LeBron and Bosh here, that he'll change that. We all know what close friends do, they compete. Wade won't want to be seen as the lesser player from those 2, so will try and get his, which as we saw in the Grizzlies game, cost us a bit. The way I see it now, with LeBron and Bosh playing as they are now, Wade is basically the x-factor to whether we win or lose. If he plays non-selfish, sensible ball, we can beat any team. If he plays his selfish, half-assed ball, it could be a frustrating season. |
