Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

Heat win 105-89

Great win without Bosh

D was great throughout. Especially the interior D holding Millsap and Big Al to a combined 17 points.

Needed Wade and Lebron to step up and they did just that. Also needed that 3rd scorer and got Battier and Ray to combine for 28.

Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

As I read tweets in reverse order while working during the game, I was satisfied with the win before even knowing Bosh sat out. Totally forgot about reading he had the flu today. Good stuff. Hopefully he's healthy for Christmas, though.

And yeah, my Al Jefferson obsession is now resting in peace. I've read he's made the team worse on the floor this year, and is too slow to score against active D's.

I haven't read this thread or looked at the box score yet, but how the hell did we out rebound them starting Battier/UD?

This game was on NBATV? **** them. They're replaying Blazers/Suns overnight, then again tomorrow, but won't replay this game. What stupid **** makes that decision? Yo soy pissed.

I dont think the game was on NBA TV. Unless they changed it really late. I always check to make sure when I make the game threads and I didnt see it being on the schedule.

Our record is now 1-0 when Jorts misses due to illness.

In this case, correlation is due to causation.

No, it wasn't on NBATV. He must've meant LP.

Love these high assist games from Wade lately. I think he and the team are at their best offensively when he has 5+. Five used to be low for him.

Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

I said 5+ assists, but I just found out the Heat are 42-16 when Wade has 6+ in the Big 3 era. Not a mandate for victory, but still a strong indicator.

Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

Wade was great tonight. So in control. Looked like pre-2010 Wade.

edit- actually, he was pretty good in the 2010 season as well.

We'll probably see more of the Battier/UD frontcourt after tonight. Bosh and our other bigs could learn a thing or two about boxing out by watching Battier.

Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

Yeah I've been noticing a lot more of the little things Shane does this year. Probably partly because I'm spending less time calling him Bane Shattier, coupled with him having to play smart more against PF's.

Wade seems to be in a nice groove. Perhaps his best since he established himself as the first-half assassin for a stretch last season.

You all forget Shane Battier winked at me.

We're besties.

Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

When did this happen?

Here's a tweet you'll love the thought of, Smithers.

Quote:
@ESPNSteinLine Since DeMarcus Cousins trade speculation is sure to be Twitter's new favorite sport, one team I'm sure will put in a call: Pat Riley's Heat
No way he acts up here, as difficult as it is to say that about him at this point, but what the hell would we trade them?

I'd almost be surprised if Riles tried. We'd be trading rotation pieces from a championship team for a guy who needs babysitting. If he shot over 45%, maybe there'd be more consideration.

Re: Game 24: Jazz @ Heat (12/22 7:30PM)

They'd probably look to unload a contract along with him if they did decide to trade him. A contract like Salmons, for instance.

Speaking of tweets Smithi would like
Quote:
Chris Tomasson ‏@christomasson
Randy Wittman has lowest coach winning pct in NBA history for 350/more games (.318). Sidney Lowe (.257 in 307) will be hard to catch for 1st
Wiz are beat up right now, but I wonder if he'll be the scapegoat at some point.

@ByTimReynolds Damn. Former Heaters Shaun Livingston, Earl Barron waived by Wizards. Because apparently, it's all their fault.
