This move raises a big question. Would you guys want T.O now? T.O loves Miami and has said he wants to play with a top notch QB. We got that now.
I trust Coach Saban can keep T.O in check.
Imagine these offensive weapons:
Qb Culppeper (hopefully he's healthy enough for the start of the season)
Rb Ronnie Brown (hopefully Ricky also)
Wr Chambers
Wr T.O
T.E McMicheal
That would be SICK!

im honestly not happy
Culpepper is older. Makes more money than Brees wanted. And we gave up a second rounder to get him
and he tore 3 f'n ligaments in his knee

Wade accomplished this in two consecutive series in the 2005 playoffs.
2. Joined Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, and Allen Iverson as the only players ever to record games of 40+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 15+ assists in the same playoff season in 2005.
3. Holds the record for being the only player in NBA history to ever average at least 30 points on 69.5 field goal percentage for four consecutive NBA playoff series games (5/23/06-5/29/06). The last record was held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 63%. Wade accomplished it with less than 20 field goal attempts per game
4. Fifth player in NBA history with at least 30 points, 15 assists and 5 rebounds in a playoff game (5/10/05 vs. WAS). The others are Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Walt Frazier and Oscar Robertson.
5. One of four players in NBA history to have at least 30 points and 12 assists in three consecutive games (November 24-27, 2006). The others are Oscar Robertson, Nate Archibald, and Kevin Johnson. [5]

Actually their Cap numbers are pretty much the same. And if the numbers that are being thrown around about Brees are right then he'll probably be making more than Culpepper. Remember, Culpeppers deal is very backloaded. By the time the contract increases, he'll be in his mid 30's and will probably be cut as Jason COle of the Miami Herald said. Also, I just heard on SIrius NFL that he would restructure his contract for the dolphins.
Both Qb's have major injury issues. If they were healthy, Brees would still be in San Diego and Culpepper would still be in Minnesota.
We got a Qb who just two years ago threw for 39 TD's and 4700 yards for a 2nd round pick. Although he's hurt, you got to weigh the risk vs reward. Nick Saban thought the reward was greater than the risk. That's good enough for me.

By the way, I just heard that Brees signed a 6 year $60million deal. I'm guessing he got a pretty good amount of gauranteed money. For sure, more than what Miami was offering.

I just read somewhere its next years 2nd, not this one
not sure what I think about that.
also, a backloaded deal- its still a lot of money. If he restructures, I will feel a lot better

I'm surprised that the Saints signed Brees to such a large contract. If they were going to draft Matt Leinart (I'm sure the Saints will be able to get him) Why gamble on Drew Brees and take away Matt Leinart's opportunity to play? This move really puzzles me.
As for the Dolphins. What a great move to get Culpepper. This guy was considered a MVP canidate two years and the Dolphins had to only surrender a 2nd round draft pick. What a steal. Congrats to all Dolphins fans!

It would be great to bring Omar Jacobs back home. He'll still be there in round 3 or 4.
But it's definately this years 2nd round pick.

I don't like this deal either; did anyone see this guy before his injury last year. He was playing like crap, turnovers galore. You can blame it on Moss not being there, he's not here in Miami either.
Then we give up a 2nd rd pick. As good as he is, he's not worth a 2nd especially coming off an injury on top of his poor production last year. WE GOT GOT!!!

A lot of Culpepper's early season TO where because of a pathetic offensive line.

Adding Shelton to the O-Line will help too......
the Dolphins are shaping up the offense, but I still think they need to address the D b/c we lost our best DB and we're aging by the day...
